If consistency was a criteria for inclusion in the All-Star Game, Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar might be headed to Target Field in July.
Escobar has had one or two hits in 17 of 22 games played since May 4. And though only six of his 22 hits during that stretch have been for extra bases, he has maintained a batting average between .261 and .286 throughout that period. He is also on pace for 46 stolen bases this year, which would shatter his previous high of 35 set in 2012.
