Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury went 2 for 4 with one double, one RBI and one stolen base Sunday against the Tigers. It was the third straight game he managed two hits and one double.
Ellsbury has hit safely in eight of his last nine games, batting .395 (15 for 38) with one triple, two stolen bases, four doubles, four RBI and seven runs.
Ellsbury has settled into a groove since late May, batting .381 (37 for 97) with a .546 slugging percentage and .976 OPS in his last 22 games. His batting average has risen from .245 to .289 in that span.
