KC's Luis Mendoza loses no-hitter in seventh
Luis Mendoza of the Royals lost a no-hit bid in the seventh inning against the Brewers on Tuesday night.
The Royals' Luis Mendoza entered Tuesday night's start against the Brewers with an ugly ERA of 5.36, but he wound up flirting with history.
The 28-year-old right-hander took a no-hitter into the seventh in Kansas City but wound up losing it on a Ryan Braun infield single. Mendoza was pulled from the 1-0 game not long after missing a chance at the first Royal no-hitter since Bret Saberhagen's in 1991.
