Giants starting pitcher Matt Cain enters Tuesday's start against the Padres pitching more like his past All-Star form in recent outings. Cain is 1-0 with a 0.66 ERA and .140 opponents' batting average in his last two starts since getting tagged for seven runs June 1 against the Cardinals.
"I feel like I'm throwing the ball like I want," Cain said, per MLB.com. "I'm just trying to eliminate the big inning."
Cain has allowed six or more runs in four starts and owns a 4.70 ERA through 14 starts.
