Pirates pticher Vance Worley earned a win Friday, allowing just one earned run on five hits and one walk in seven innings and striking out a season-high seven batters in his team's

Worley (5-1) hasn't surrendered more than one earned run in four straight starts to open the second half. His damage Friday came on a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning, but the starter was able to cruise through the rest of his outing. Worley owns a 2.30 ERA and 39:10 K:BB ratio in 62 2/3 innings. His next start should come against the Tigers Wednesday.
