He was less effective in the minors, as he posted an 8.10 ERA and 2.06 WHIP in 13.1 innings across 13 appearances at Triple-A El Paso before being released in July. The right-hander will compete for a spot in the major-league bullpen ahead of the 2022 campaign but is unlikely to have a significant role for the Padres, even if he makes the Opening Day roster.
