Tigers' Christian Binford: Heads to Detroit
Binford was acquired by the Tigers from the Orioles on Friday, Emily Waldon of The Athletic Detroit reports.
Binford posted a 4.95 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with 35 strikeouts through 56 innings at Double-A Bowie. He's yet to surface in the big leagues, as he's playing his seventh season in the minors.

Orioles' Christian Binford: Inks minor-league deal with Baltimore
Binford agreed to a minor-league contract with the Orioles on Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Binford split time between the Royals' Triple-A and Double-A teams in 2017, but spent a majority of the time in Omaha at the highest minor-league level. During 22 appearances -- including 19 starts -- he posted a ghastly 7.24 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in 115.2 innings while sporting a 94:39 K:BB. He will likely serve as organizational depth for Baltimore, and begin the season in Triple-A Norfolk.

Royals' Christian Binford: Wins first game after promotion
Binford was promoted to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday, then dealt seven innings of one-run ball to pick up a win Sunday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
As a 21-year-old in 2014, Binford was a highly touted prospect in the Royals system. He's since fallen from grace after a pair of rough campaigns with Double-A and Triple-A. However, the right-hander looks like a new man in 2017. Over 31.2 innings (five starts) with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, Binford posted an impressive 1.99 ERA and 1.14 WHIP before cruising to victory Sunday with Triple-A Omaha. He's still just 24 years old, and a bullpen role at the MLB level has not yet passed him by.

Royals' Christian Binford: Gives up seven earned runs over 4.1 innings
Binford was rocked in his first start of the season against Double-A Frisco on Saturday, giving up seven earned runs on eleven hits and a walk over 4.1 innings. He now holds a bloated 14.54 ERA on the young season.
Binford was similarly hit hard this spring as he posted a 11.25 ERA over four innings of work. The 6-6 righty is coming off his age-22 season in which he compiled a 5.82 ERA over 119 innings with Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha. Interestingly, before reaching the Triple-A level, Winford had not posted an ERA above 3.60 over 300 plus innings. The 23-year-old will need to show in 2016 he can carry over his single and Double-A statistics into the Triple-A level in order to build his resume for a potential call up to the big leagues down the road.
