Aneurys Zabala: Heads overseas
Zabala has signed a contract with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball.
Zavala spent the 2023 season at Triple-A Toledo in the Tigers organization, posting a 4.25 ERA and 103:49 K:BB over 65.2 frames. His only major-league experience came in 2022 with the Marlins, when he made two scoreless appearances.

Tigers' Aneurys Zabala: Lands with Tigers
Zabala signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Saturday.
The 26-year-old received his first taste of the big leagues for a brief spell in 2022, making two relief appearances with Miami. He otherwise split time between Triple-A Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola, logging a 9.79 ERA and 2.25 WHIP in 26.2 innings between the two stops. Zabala will provide the Tigers organization with relief depth in the upper levels of the minors.

Marlins' Aneurys Zabala: Cast off 40-man roster
Zabala was outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday.
Zabala's contract was selected by the Marlins on Monday, but he didn't make any appearances during his brief stint in the major-league bullpen. He'll head back to Jacksonville, where he's posted a 9.47 ERA and 2.21 WHIP in 19 innings over 15 appearances this year.

The Marlins selected Zabala's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Fellow reliever Andrew Nardi was optioned to Jacksonville to clear a spot on the 28-man active roster and in the bullpen for Zabala, who is up with Miami for the third time this season. Over his previous two stints in the big leagues, Zabala struck out two across 2.2 scoreless innings between two relief appearances.
