Rays' Santiago Suarez: Cleared for return
Suarez (triceps/shoulder) was activated from the 7-day injured list Saturday.
Suarez has missed significant time while recovering from right triceps and shoulder tightness. He made his first appearance for High-A Bowling Green on Sunday since May 7, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out five across three innings.

Rays' Santiago Suarez: Out with arm injury
Suarez is on the 7-day injured list at High-A Bowling Green with tightness in his right triceps and shoulder, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports.
The report from early June states that the injury is not considered serious and he should return before too long, but Suarez hasn't pitched in a game since May 7. The 20-year-old righty had a 1.78 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 28:5 K:BB in 25.1 innings prior to the injury.

Rays' Santiago Suarez: Shelved at High-A
High-A Bowling Green placed Suarez on its 7-day injured list Friday due to an unspecified injury
Before landing on the IL, the 20-year-old righty had performed as one of the top arms in the lower levels of the Tampa Bay system so far this season, logging a 1.78 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 28:5 K:BB across 25.1 innings.

Rays' Santiago Suarez: Shows off pinpoint control
Suarez logged a 4.11 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 115:21 K:BB in 111.2 innings across 23 starts for Single-A Charleston.
Throw out Suarez's ERA, as his 3.51 FIP and 2.97 xFIP paint a more accurate picture of his performance. Suarez's 4.7 percent walk rate was the best mark among all qualified full-season pitchers who are 20 and under. His pinpoint control and ability to handle a starter's workload are encouraging traits, although Suarez's pure stuff is more in line with a future mid-rotation starter than a front-line starter. The Rays have several exciting pitching prospects coming off breakout seasons, but Suarez's floor (assuming reasonable health) is as high as any other arm in the system.
