Reds' Bo Takahashi: Inks minor-league deal
Takahashi signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training.
Takahashi didn't pitch in 2020 after he was unable to get back from his native Brazil, and he was outrighted to Triple-A Reno by the Diamondbacks in late October. The right-hander will get to work with Cincinnati's major-league training staff during spring training and will attempt to make his big-league debut at some point in 2021.

Diamondbacks' Bo Takahashi: Outrighted to Triple-A
Takahashi was outrighted to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old was left out of Arizona's 60-player pool at the start of the season because he was unable to get back from his native Brazil, and he never pitched this season. Takahashi spent the 2019 campaign at the Double-A level and posted a 3.72 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 104:38 K:BB over 118.2 innings.

Diamondbacks' Bo Takahashi: Unable to get back to US
Takahashi was left off the Diamondbacks' 60-man player pool because he can't get back to the United States from his native Brazil, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Takahashi can't enter the United States, which banned incoming flights from Brazil in May.

Diamondbacks' Bo Takahashi: Opening year at Triple-A
The Diamondbacks optioned Takahashi to Triple-A Reno on March 6.
Takahashi will get his first taste of Triple-A after spending much of the past two seasons with Double-A Jackson. Over 23 starts with Jackson in 2019, Takahashi accrued a 3.72 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 118.2 innings.

Takahashi was optioned to Double-A Jackson on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old righty did not get the chance to make his big-league debut during his two-day stint in the majors. As a member of the 40-man roster, he will likely rejoin the big-league bullpen in September.

Takahashi was recalled from Double-A Jackson prior to Sunday's game against the Giants.
He had been working as a starter at Double-A but will likely be used as a long reliever in the majors. This would be the big-league debut for the 22-year-old righty. He has a 3.87 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 93 strikeouts in 107 innings (21 starts) at Double-A.
