  • Reds' Tommy Eveld: Gets MiLB deal from Cincinnati

Eveld signed a minor-league contract Wednesday with the Reds, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

Eveld is 29 years old and has yet to pitch in a major-league game, but he posted a respectable 3.38 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 34.2 innings last summer for Triple-A Jacksonville in the Marlins organization. The right-hander could finally get his first MLB promotion this season in Cincinnati.

  • Marlins' Tommy Eveld: Overcomes biceps injury

Eveld (biceps) has made two relief appearances for Triple-A Jacksonville since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list last week, working four innings and giving up one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out four.

Before rejoining Jacksonville, Eveld made two two-inning rehab appearances for Low-A Jupiter. The right-hander had been sidelined for the first two weeks of the minor-league season with biceps soreness, an injury that first cropped up during spring training.

  • Marlins' Tommy Eveld: Dealing with biceps issue

Eveld is dealing with nerve irritation in his right biceps and is considered day-to-day, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The 27-year-old delivered a scoreless frame Wednesday with one walk and one strikeout, but he's now nursing a biceps injury. Eveld spent 2020 at the alternate training site and is still looking to make his MLB debut.

  • Marlins' Tommy Eveld: Included on summer camp roster

Eveld is part of the Marlins' 60-man player pool, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

The 26-year-old lefty reliever has never reached the majors and is not on the 40-man roster. He logged a 7.71 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 24:13 K:BB in 23.1 innings at Triple-A last season. If he pitches in the majors this year it would be in low-leverage situations.
