  • Brewers' Thomas Jankins: Shut down with flexor strain

Jankins was diagnosed with a flexor strain in his right forearm and has been shut down from throwing, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old was pulled from Friday's spring matchup with the Cubs after experiencing some forearm stiffness, and he'll now be prevented from throwing for an unspecified period. Jankins was reassigned to minor-league camp last week and should be headed for Triple-A at the start of the season, if he's healthy.

  • Brewers' Thomas Jankins: Dealing with forearm issue

Jankins experienced some forearm stiffness during Friday's spring game against the Cubs and was removed as a precaution, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Jankins was recently reassigned to minor-league camp, but he still pitched in Friday's Cactus League matchup. He allowed two unearned runs on two hits and two walks while failing to strike out any batters over two-thirds of an inning but was removed from the game early. The severity of the issue isn't yet known.

  • Brewers' Thomas Jankins: Reassigned to minors

Jankins was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday.

Jankins spent camp with the big-league club for the first time and held his own over three appearances. He did the same last year in his first stint at the Triple-A level, going 10-5 with a 4.38 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 88:32 K:BB in 123.1 innings over 23 outings. The lack of strikeouts doesn't bode well for his fantasy prospects, but he will garner at least some consideration should the Brewers need to bring up a starter from the minors.
