Paige VanZant's next fight will headline UFC Fight Night event in Sacramento

VanZant is set to take on Michelle Waterson in Sacramento on Dec. 17

Paige VanZant is back with a vengeance. The women's strawweight phenom has her next fight scheduled and it will take place in the city where she trains.

That's right, VanZant is set to headline UFC Fight Night Sacramento on Dec. 17 against Michelle Waterson, the UFC announced on Wednesday.

VanZant is coming off a brutal KO of Bec Rawlings in August, the second knockout of her career. VanZant (7-2, 4-1 in UFC) will face off against Waterson, who has not fought since July 2015.

Waterson holds a 13-4 professional record but has had just one fight in UFC, scoring a third-round submission Angela Magana.

The UFC on Fox card in Sacramento is starting to come together with a showdown of phenoms also set for the main card when Mickey Gall and Sage Northcutt battle in the welterweight division.
