The Rockets waived Thomas on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
The Rockets needed to open a roster spot to complete their trade for Sekou Doumbouya. However, Houston waived Doumbouya immediately after the trade was completed, so a return to the Rockets isn't out of the question for Thomas.
