Jarreau ended with 12 points (4-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 33 minutes during Monday's 131-105 loss to Phoenix.
Jarreau wasn't afraid to let it fly on the offensive end, and while he wasn't exactly efficient from the field, he managed to end the night in double figures for a second straight game. He reached a season high in minutes Monday, given Memphis' extensive injury report, and he could continue to see opportunities to show what he can do down the stretch of the regular season, as the Grizzlies don't have much to play for.

Jarreau appeared in all five of the Grizzlies' games after signing with the team March 13, averaging 6.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 0.6 steals in 21.2 minutes per contest while shooting 41.9 percent from the field. With both Jarreau and Tyler Burton having had their 10-day hardship contracts expire within the last two days, the Grizzlies are now down to a standard 15-man roster plus three two-way players. However, with Memphis listing eight players as out and two more as questionable or doubtful for Monday's game in Atlanta, the NBA could extend the Grizzlies another hardship exception or two that could be used to re-sign Jarreau and/or Burton to another 10-day deal. Expect any signing by the team to be announced prior to Monday's game, but if Jarreau isn't added back to the Grizzlies roster, he'll likely remain in the organization as a member of its G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle.

With Scotty Pippen (toe) set to undergo season-ending surgery, an already depleted Memphis backcourt was in need of further reinforcement, so the Grizzlies opted to bring Jarreau aboard. A fifth-year guard out of Houston, Jarreau has been a key player in the G League for the Memphis Hustle this season, starting in 11 of his 31 appearances while averaging 14.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.7 three-pointers and 0.7 blocks in 23.3 minutes per contest.

The Grizzlies could retain Jarreau by signing him to a rest-of-season deal and waiving another player, but the team doesn't seem to be looking to go that route, as Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Friday that Memphis will bring Zavier Simpson aboard on a 10-day deal to fill the vacant spot on the 15-man roster. Assuming Jarreau isn't re-signed prior to the Grizzlies' game Saturday versus the Magic, he'll likely link back up with the organization's G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle, with whom he had been playing before signing a pair of 10-day deals. During his time at the NBA level, Jarreau appeared in nine games for the Grizzlies and averaged 4.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 16.7 minutes.
