  • Bulls' Jordan Hawkins: Inks two-way deal with Chicago

Hawkins signed a two-way contract with the Bulls on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Hawkins will help back up the guard spots in Chicago, but as long as the main guys are healthy, it'll be tough for him to find a meaningful role in the rotation. Through three years of NBA experience, Hawkins owns career averages of 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 triples per contest.

  • Jordan Hawkins: Let go by Memphis

Hawkins and the Grizzlies mutually agreed to part ways Friday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Hawkins wouldn't have been a lock to crack Memphis' Opening Night rotation after being traded from New Orleans on Sept. 8, and he'll now have the opportunity to find a new home if he clears waivers. The 2023 first-rounder spent the first three years of his career with the Pelicans and saw a reduced role in 2025-26, when he averaged 5.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 13.6 minutes per game across 51 regular-season appearances (one start).

  • Grizzlies' Jordan Hawkins: Traded to Memphis

Hawkins was traded to the Grizzlies from the Pelicans on Tuesday along with Micah Peavy, a future second-round pick and a future second-round pick swap in exchange for AJ Johnson and Taj Gibson, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Hawkins' departure doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Will Guillory of The Athletic notes that the Pelicans had been looking to move on from the 24-year-old. Hawkins averaged just 5.1 points in 51 regular-season appearances last season, and moving his $7 million salary helps New Orleans create the necessary financial flexibility to finalize its deal with Bennedict Mathurin. Hawkins will get a fresh start in Memphis, though he'll need to earn a spot in a crowded backcourt rotation before emerging as a fantasy option.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: May not crack Opening Night rotation

Hawkins is likely to begin the season outside of the rotation after the Pelicans signed Bennedict Mathurin on Wednesday.

Hawkins was already hard-pressed for an Opening Night role, and Mathurin's presence further complicates matters for him. Hawkins appears to be behind Mathurin, Jeremiah Fears, Jordan Poole and perhaps even Micah Peavy when it comes to the reserves on New Orleans' initial depth chart.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Scores 13 in finale

Hawkins had 13 points (4-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 132-126 loss to the Timberwolves.

Hawkins played a very minor role in 2025-26, appearing in just 51 games for an average of 13.6 minutes per contest. He produced 5.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.9 three-pointers, shooting just 36.6 percent from the field.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Starting Sunday

Hawkins will start Sunday's game against the Timberwolves.

Hawkins will make his first start of the season. The 23-year-old pro has averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.3 minutes per contest over his last four appearances.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Reaches 20-point mark again

Hawkins chipped in 20 points (8-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes during Friday's 144-118 loss to the Celtics.

That's now back-to-back games with at least 20 points for Hawkins. The third-year guard wasn't a consistent contributor for the Pelicans in 2025-26, but Hawkins has now logged at least 21 minutes in six of his last seven contests as he tries to build his case for a more stable role ahead of 2026-27.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Upgraded to available

Hawkins (illness) is listed as available for Tuesday's game against Utah.

Hawkins officially has the green light to suit up after initially being listed as questionable. With Zion Williamson, Herbert Jones and Saddiq Bey not expected to see any action, and Dejounte Murray (hand), Yves Missi (hand) and Trey Murphy (ankle) ruled out, Hawkins might find himself in the starting lineup. If anything, he should see more opportunities to produce.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Dealing with illness

Hawkins is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Jazz due to an illness.

Hawkins was a late addition to the injury report, which is never a good sign. However, if he can shake off the ailment, the third-year wing could see expanded minutes, as Dejounte Murray (hand) and Trey Murphy (ankle) remain out. Over his last five appearances, Hawkins has averaged 7.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 19.0 minutes.

Hawkins chipped in nine points (3-3 FG, 3-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one block over 22 minutes during Thursday's 129-108 loss to the Pistons.

Hawkins saw his largest workload since Jan. 13, as Trey Murphy (ankle) received the night off for maintenance. Murphy will likely be back in the mix Friday against the Raptors, but Hawkins could remain involved, since Dejounte Murray (rest) is expected to sit out.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Muted role continues

Hawkins logged zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt) in one minute during Saturday's 115-105 win over Utah.

Hawkins logged just one minute, moving into the rotation for just the fourth time in the past 16 games. Three of those appearances have been during garbage time only, highlighting just how far down the pecking order he currently is. Outside of dynasty formats, Hawkins has no value right now.

Hawkins registered zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in one minute during Saturday's 126-111 win over the 76ers.

Hawkins continues to be used sparingly off the bench, having logged a total of just 11 minutes in the past 13 games. After an intriguing sophomore season during which he averaged 10.8 points per game, Hawkins has seen his role diminish this season, putting up just 4.1 points in 13.3 minutes per game.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Plays 22 minutes off bench

Hawkins recorded six points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists and one block over 22 minutes during Tuesday's 122-116 loss to the Nuggets.

Hawkins could continue to see his minutes creep into the 20s until Herbert Jones is fully recovered from an ankle sprain. Even so, Hawkins hasn't reached double figures in scoring since the Dec. 2 loss to Minnesota and remains mostly out of fantasy conversations.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Cleared to play Tuesday

Hawkins (illness) is good to go for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.

Hawkins will shake off a questionable tag and is set to return from a two-game absence. He's been very underwhelming this season, posting averages of 5.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15.2 minutes per contest. However, with Zion Williamson (adductor) slated to miss extended time, Hawkins could be more involved offensively moving forward.

Hawkins (illness) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.

Hawkins remains under the weather and is in danger of missing his third consecutive contest. If the 23-year-old guard is ultimately ruled out, Bryce McGowens and Jose Alvarado are candidates for a slight uptick in playing time.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Won't play Sunday

Hawkins (illness) is out for Sunday's game versus the Lakers.

Hawkins will miss his second straight game and Herbert Jones (calf), Trey Murphy (elbow), Jordan Poole (quad) and Zion Williamson (hamstring) will join him on the inactive list. Jose Alvarado and Jeremiah Fears should get all the run they can handle Sunday evening.

Hawkins is battling an illness, which will keep him out Saturday. The guard can be considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Lakers. With Hawkins out, Micah Peavy should see enough playing time to be worth streaming against Golden State.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Cleared for Wednesday

Hawkins (personal) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.

Hawkins missed Monday's win over Chicago for personal reasons, but he'll be back in action for Wednesday's clash. He hasn't had much of an impact recently, averaging 6.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17.8 minutes over his last five appearances.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Out for personal reasons

Hawkins (personal) is out for Monday's game against the Bulls.

It's not immediately clear how long Hawkins will be away from the team. Hawkins had been limited to minutes in the teens in his last three appearances. Guys like Jose Alvarado, Saddiq Bey and Micah Peavy could see a small bump in minutes with this news.
