  • Hornets' Joel Berry: Added to Summer League roster

Berry was a late addition to the Hornets' Summer League roster Wednesday.

After Nate Darling (knee) was ruled out for Summer League, it appears that the 26-year-old was called up as a replacement. The UNC alumni played for Turkish club Besiktas this past season, averaging 10.1 points and 3.0 assists in 18 games.

  • Joel Berry: Scores 16 in blowout loss

Berry contributed 16 points (6-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and one steal in 41 minutes during Saturday's loss to College Park.

With the Swarm struggling to find options at point guard, Berry saw a season-high 41 minutes of run, translating his court time into a solid overall line. However, his play was blemished by his horrendous minus-25 net rating and five turnovers. That said, as long as he can retain such a large role, Berry should be able to generate decent counting stats.

  • Joel Berry: Sees 19 minutes off bench

Berry supplied four points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 19 minutes during Thursday's tilt against the Herd.

Berry was unable to translate a healthy workload into an impressive statistical line. That said, his increased minute allotment was a positive sign for the 24-year-old, who's averaging 5.2 points, 1.8 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per game this season.

  • Joel Berry: Back in minimal role

Berry scored three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and added a rebound in eight minutes during Wednesday's win over the 905.

After seeing a brief boost in minutes earlier this month, Berry has returned to the relatively minimal role he's held for much of the season. His lack of playing time mostly stems from his shooting woes as he's made just 36.1 percent of his shots from the field, 28.9 percent of his threes and 71.4 percent of his free throws on the year.

  • Joel Berry: Drops 11 points off bench

Berry recorded 11 points (5-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt), five assists, three rebounds, three steals and a block in 26 minutes Monday against Canton.

Berry had his most complete game of the season, achieving season-highs in points, assists and steals. The second-year pro's struggled to see the floor during his first year with Greensboro, in part because of poor shooting splits. In 11.9 minutes per game, Berry's averaging just 4.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal while shooting a woeful 36.7 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from three and 50.0 percent from the line.

  • Joel Berry: Retakes floor

Berry (undisclosed) has returned to the floor, averaging eight minutes over the last three games.

Berry was sidelined briefly for an undisclosed reason but has since returned to his role as a minimal rotational piece for the Swarm. He hasn't tallied more than five points in a game this season, so there's little to suggest he's going to advance in the basketball ranks at this point.

  • Joel Berry: Doesn't play Tuesday

Berry was listed as inactive for Tuesday's game against College Park for an undisclosed reason.

The circumstances of Berry's unavailability remain unclear, though the absence may be linked to his poor performance. In five appearances so far this year, Berry has been held to 2.4 points in 7.0 minutes while shooting a horrendous 26.7 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from three and 66.7 percent from the line.

  • Joel Berry: Removed from active roster

Berry, due to a season-ending injury, has been removed from the South Bay Lakers' active roster. The organization will retain his G League rights and he will continue his rehab with South Bay.

Ultimately, Berry was removed from the roster to make room for former NBA player Spencer Hawes, who signed with South Bay on Saturday.

  • Joel Berry: Still unable to play

Berry (knee) did not play in Friday's contest against Austin.

Berry has missed the entire month of February with an ongoing knee injury, and there doesn't seem to be much news surrounding a possible return date for the guard.

  • Joel Berry: Missing time thanks to knee injury

Berry did not play in Friday's game as a result of a knee injury.

Berry has played in 21 games with South Bay, averaging 22.4 minutes per contest, along with 11.1 points and 2.5 assists. While the guard missed some time playing with USA Basketball, he's been a rotational piece for South Bay regardless.

  • Joel Berry: Away with USA Basketball

Berry will miss a few South Bay Lakers games while he joins USA Basketball for their second round qualifying matches leading to the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Berry plays in Argentina tonight and in Uruguay on Sunday. Ideally, he'll be back in time for the Lakers' December 5th game at Westchester.

  • Joel Berry: Waived by Lakers

Berry was waived by the Lakers on Monday.

Berry saw limited run during the preseason and was unable to do enough during camp to earn himself a spot on the Lakers' regular-season roster. That said, he was always a long shot to do just that, so his release isn't a huge surprise. If the Lakers still like his upside, there's a decent chance Berry joins the team's G-League affiliate to start the year.
