Bulls' Coby White: Drills five threes to lead team
White compiled 23 points (6-9 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four assists and two rebounds across 31 minutes in Wednesday's 125-123 preseason win over the Timberwolves.
White was in the first unit with Zach LaVine and Josh Giddey, which is an encouraging sign for his production moving forward. White and Ayo Dosusmu (shoulder) stepped up last year after Zach LaVine's injury, and his return plus the acquisition of Giddey put the future of White's participation in jeopardy. While Wednesday's lineup lessened concern about White, Lonzo Ball's appearance off the bench poses some long-term concern about the makeup of the backcourt after Ball's minute restriction is removed.

Bulls' Coby White: Good to go Wednesday
White (groin) is active and starting Wednesday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Will Gottlieb of AllCHGO.com reports.
White missed back-to-back exhibitions due to groin tightness, but the issue was always reported as minor. The North Carolina product had a breakout campaign last year while the team was without Zach LaVine for most of the season, and it's unclear how LaVine's healthy presence will impact White's usage and playing time in 2024-25.

White continues to deal with a groin injury, and the team doesn't appear to be in a rush to clear him until he's back at 100 percent. He'll have another chance to play in the preseason Wednesday against the Timberwolves.

White was held out of Friday's practice due to groin tightness, and the Bulls will likely remain cautious with the guard as the regular season approaches. The 24-year-old's next chance to suit up will come Monday against the Bucks, and in his absence the Bulls will likely take an extended look at Dalen Terry, Chris Duarte and Onuralp Bitim.

Bulls' Coby White: Pops for 21 in preseason win
White scored a game-high 21 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT) while adding three rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes during Tuesday's 116-112 preseason win over the Cavaliers.
After a breakout 2023-24 campaign that saw him produce a career-high 19.1 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 boards and 2.6 three-pointers a game, White is expected to be one of the focal points of the Bulls' attack in the upcoming season. The 24-year-old does have a new backcourt partner in Josh Giddey, but the former Thunder player offers more offensive upside than Alex Caruso did, which could create more scoring opportunities for White as well.
