Dosunmu reiterated Monday that he views Minnesota as his long-term home after re-signing with the Timberwolves during the offseason, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports.
"I felt at home. That was the most important part," Dosunmu said, adding that he can envision starting a family in Minnesota and pointing to the area's public schools as another factor in his desire to stay. The 26-year-old signed a five-year, $112 million deal this summer after averaging 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists across 24 regular-season appearances for Minnesota following his midseason arrival from Chicago.
Dosunmu could be headed to the second unit following Minnesota's agreement with Jonathan Kuminga.
Dosunmu currently sits atop the Timberwolves' depth chart at small forward, but Kuminga was reportedly recruited with the opportunity to start at power forward, which would likely shift Jaden McDaniels back to small forward. Dosunmu should still command a significant role as one of Minnesota's top reserves and can handle minutes at multiple perimeter positions, though the addition of Kuminga makes a starting job less likely.

During that span, he shot 52.1 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from three. The 26-year-old guard stepped up for the team in the postseason and should command a sizable role next season, as Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) could miss the entire 2026-27 campaign. Dosunmu's new deal includes a player option for the final year.

Dosunmu turned in an efficient performance from inside the arc and finished as Minnesota's fourth-leading scorer while tying the team-high mark in assists. The 26-year-old guard stuffed the stat sheet on the defensive end as well, supplying a game-best three steals and a team-high two blocks. He'll look to continue stuffing the stat sheet in Friday's Game 6 in Minnesota, where the Timberwolves aim to stave off elimination.
Dosunmu will start Sunday's Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Spurs.
Dosunmu will get the starting nod for the second time this postseason, pushing Mike Conley to the second unit. Dosunmu logged 32 minutes in Friday's Game 3 loss, during which he tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a steal off the bench.
