Top 76ers News

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Questionable to play Sunday

Embiid is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raptors due to left knee injury management, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.

The 76ers and Raptors play in back-to-back games in Toronto on Sunday and Monday. Embiid will likely sit out of one of those games while managing a left knee injury, in which case Andre Drummond would be the top candidate to enter the 76ers' starting five. Embiid has played in each of the 76ers' last six games, and over that span he has averaged 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.2 blocks over 33.7 minutes per game.

  • 76ers' Adem Bona: Removed from rotation Friday

Bona (coach's decision) went unused off the bench in Friday's 103-91 win over the Magic.

After averaging 17.8 minutes per game while appearing in each of the previous 10 contests, Bona looked to have moved ahead of Andre Drummond on the depth chart at center. However, head coach Nick Nurse ended up reversing course Friday, turning to Drummond as the sole backup option to starter Joel Embiid while Bona didn't get off the bench. Nurse has shown a willingness to occasionally use Bona alongside Embiid at times, but with Trendon Watford and Kelly Oubre recently returning from injuries, the 76ers could be less inclined to deploy Bona at power forward in future contests.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Productive in Friday's win

George accumulated 18 points (8-21 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals over 33 minutes during Friday's 103-91 win over Orlando.

It was the second time in 20 games this season that George recorded multiple steals and blocks in the same contest. The veteran forward has scored in double digits in 13 of 15 games since the beginning of December, averaging 16.6 points, 5.7 boards, 3.5 assists, 2.7 threes and 1.2 steals over that span.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Just misses double-double Friday

Embiid chipped in 22 points (7-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 31 minutes during Friday's 103-91 victory over the Magic.

The oft-injured center came up just short of his fifth double-double in 18 games this season. Embiid has suited up for six straight contests -- his longest stretch of uninterrupted play so far in 2025-26 -- and scored at least 22 points in each, averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 boards, 4.3 assists and 1.2 blocks over 33.7 minutes while shooting 51.8 percent from the floor.

  • 76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Game-high 29 points Friday

Maxey logged 29 points (10-22 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 6-6 FT), one assist, one rebound and three steals over 38 minutes during the 76ers' 103-91 win over the Magic on Friday.

Maxey's one assist Friday was a season low, but the All-Star point guard was still heavily involved in the offense and finished as the game's leading scorer. He's connected on at least three triples in six consecutive games and has posted at least 22 points in 11 of his last 12 outings. Over that 12-game span, Maxey has averaged 28.9 points, 6.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 threes, 2.2 steals and 1.0 blocks over 39.0 minutes per game.

  • 76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Returns Friday

Edgecombe (eye) returned at the start of the second quarter of Friday's game against the Magic, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.

Edgecombe left in the first quarter of Friday's game due to an apparent eye injury. He was evaluated by medical staff in the locker room but was cleared to return for the start of the second frame.

  • 76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Leaves for locker room Friday

Edgecombe exited to the locker room in the first quarter of Friday's game against the Magic due to an apparent eye injury, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.

Edgecombe was hit in the eye and exited the game with 3:01 remaining in the opening quarter. If the rookie is unable to return, Quentin Grimes and Jared McCain are candidates for increased playing time the rest of the way.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Available to play

Embiid (knee) is available for Friday's game in Orlando.

Embiid is good to go for his sixth consecutive game, and he'll look to build off Wednesday's 28-point performance in a blowout win over Washington. Make sure Embiid is active.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Upgraded to probable

Embiid (knee) has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game against Orlando.

Embiid was initially labeled as questionable. He's been in really good form lately, posting averages of 28.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks over his last three games. Although he's expected to play Friday, it's worth noting the 76ers have a back-to-back set coming up Sunday and Monday.

  • 76ers' Kelly Oubre: Tepid production in return

Oubre (knee) registered two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three assists, two steals and one assist across 20 minutes Wednesday in the 76ers' 131-110 win over the Wizards.

Oubre had started in each of the 76ers' first 12 games of the season, but after missing 22 consecutive contests due to a left knee sprain before gaining clearance to play Wednesday, the veteran wing came off the bench and operated with a heavy minutes restriction. After averaging 16.8 points per game prior to getting hurt, Oubre took on a much more muted role on offense in his return, handling a season-low 8.8 percent usage rate. Oubre could still see his minutes and usage pick up a bit in future contests, but he'll likely struggle to return to his pre-injury level of production now that Paul George has been back to full health for a while now after he had been sidelined for the first 12 games of the season.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Added to injury report

Embiid is questionable for Friday's game against the Magic due to left knee injury management, Austin Krell of OnPattison.com reports.

Embiid has looked like his old self over his club's last five games, but he finds himself on the injury report yet again leading up to Friday's clash, likely as a precaution. The team will presumably monitor the big man closely during shootaround and pregame warmups before determining his availability in Orlando.

  • 76ers' Trendon Watford: Not part of rotation in return

Watford (adductor) played the final 4:45 of Wednesday's 131-110 win over the Wizards, finishing with three assists and no other statistics during his time on the court.

Available to play for the first time since Nov. 25 after a lengthy absence due to a left adductor strain, Watford wasn't included in head coach Nick Nurse's main rotation, as he didn't enter the contest until the 76ers had already built a 17-point lead in the waning minutes of the game. The 25-year-old forward could eventually emerge as a rotation option once he's further removed from the adductor strain, but he may need the 76ers to be without one or more key contributors in order to see meaningful minutes.

  • 76ers' Jared McCain: Sees just 11 minutes

McCain finished Wednesday's 131-110 victory over Washington with two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in 11 minutes.

The 76ers had their entire roster available Wednesday, and the return of Kelly Oubre is likely to spell trouble for McCain. McCain is averaging just 15.1 minutes over his last four contests, and he can be safely monitored from the waiver wire for the time being.

... See More ... See Less
  • 76ers' Andre Drummond: Sees 12 minutes in win

Drummond finished Wednesday's 131-110 win over the Wizards with 11 points (3-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals across 12 minutes.

Drummond recently fell out of the rotation for the 76ers, but he saw some action in garbage time Wednesday due to the lopsided score. With the entire Philadelphia frontcourt in good health, Drummond can be monitored from the waiver wire in most formats.

  • 76ers' Dominick Barlow: Sees 23 minutes in win

Barlow amassed 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), six rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 131-110 win over the Wizards.

The 76ers had their full roster available for the first time this season, and Barlow kept his spot with the starters and saw a decent workload. He's made a strong impression on the 76ers, and he currently holds averages of 8.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks in 24.9 minutes per contest.

... See More ... See Less
  • 76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Career-high five steals in win

Edgecombe racked up 13 points (4-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and five steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 131-110 victory over Washington.

The five steals were a career high for the third overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and they marked the fifth straight game in which Edgecombe had recorded multiple steals. He's also scored in double digits in 14 straight games, averaging 18.4 points, 5.0 boards, 4.1 assists, 2.8 threes and 1.8 steals over that stretch.

... See More ... See Less
  • 76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Drops 22 on Wizards

Maxey accumulated 22 points (9-15 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 131-110 win over Washington.

The 25-year-old guard scored at least 20 points for a seventh straight game, and the Sixers' offense hums to life now that the roster is fully healthy. Over that stretch, Maxey is averaging 29.9 points, 7.6 assists, 5.0 boards, 4.1 threes, 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks.
