Eagles apparently trying to avoid use of Redskins team name
Are the Eagles avoiding the use of Washington's team name?
Just because the Redskins have decided to keep their team name doesn't mean other NFL teams have to use it.
Take the Philadelphia Eagles for instance.
The Eagles released their weekly media guide on Wednesday, which usually isn't something worth noting, but we're noting it this week because the Eagles have apparently decided to scrub Washington's team name out of it.
This is interesting. The #Eagles appear to have wiped the name #Redskins from this week's weekly media guide. #NFL pic.twitter.com/VgA9ksVrbi

As NJ.com's Matt Lombardo points out above, the Eagles were using team names on all of their media guides prior to this week, but apparently decided to change course for this week's game against Washington.
Washington's team name isn't mentioned once on the first few pages.
Before the Eagles first home game, the Cowboys team name was listed several times in Philly's media guide. You can see an example of that below.

Overall, the Cowboys name was mentioned 15 times on the first page of the media guide, compared to zero for the Redskins.
This week also marks the first time the Eagles haven't used their opponent's team name in the heading of the media guide.

The Eagles also haven't been mentioning Washington's team name in any tweets they've sent out about this week's game.

If the Eagles have decided they're not going to use Washington's team name anymore and other NFL teams join them, that could put Washington owner Dan Snyder in a situation that all but forces him to change the team's name.
