Taylor Mays is a safety who plays like a linebacker. Now he's getting a chance to actually play linebacker for the Bengals, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer.
A season-ending shoulder injury to linebacker Emmanuel Lamur has forced Mays to take snaps at that position in practice in nickel and dime packages. And he's certainly not complaining about it.
"I've been picking it up quick," Mays said. "I feel good about it. Some stuff you have to learn on the field but I have to get it done."
The Bengals have only five healthy linebackers for their opener in Chicago.
