Bryant was placed on IR early in the preseason after suffering an elbow injury against the Giants. If now healthy, the defensive tackle is free to sign on with a new team.

Bryant suffered his elbow injury on Monday, and the Giants immediately began working out replacements for the defensive tackle. Look for Bobby Richardson to see some extra reps now that Bryant has been shut down for the year.

While the severity of the injury is still somewhat murky, there are some factors that indicate Bryant could be headed to injured reserve. First, the Giants reportedly worked out a handful of potential replacements Tuesday, meaning the team is preparing for a short-term life without Bryant. Second, Giants coach Ben McAdoo admitted that the team is currently looking at other options at the position. Bryant (shoulder) was signed by the Giants to a one-year deal Thursday, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
Bryant, who has spent the past four seasons in Buffalo, was placed on IR last year with a shoulder injury after notching 11 tackles in eight games. He'll look to provide depth for a defensive tackle corps led by Damon Harrison in New York.

Bills' Corbin Bryant: Placed on IR
Bryant (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
After being held out of Sunday's win over the Jaguars, the Bills decided to place the defensive tackle on IR, effectively ending his season. They also promoted defensive tackle DeAndre Coleman from the practice squad Tuesday. Additionally, expect Adolphus Washington and Jerel Worthy to see increased defensive snaps the remainder of the season. Bryant recorded 11 tackles in eight games with the Bills this season.

Bryant missed Sunday's win over the Bengals, but it appears he might he fit to play this week against Jacksonville. With Marcell Dareus back at full speed, Bryant might become more of a depth player the rest of the way, but he certainly has the ability to fill that role capably. This is the healthiest the Buffalo defense has looked in quite some time.
