Robert Blanton: Let go by Buffalo
Blanton was released by the Bills on Tuesday, Joe Buscaglia of 7 ABC Buffalo reports.
Blanton actually had a chance for more opportunity with the team following the long-term injury to fellow safety Colt Anderson this past Sunday, but the Bills instead brought in two new safeties Tuesday, thereby giving Blanton the heave-ho.

Bills' Robert Blanton: Re-signs with Buffalo
Blanton signed a contract with the Bills on Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Blanton, a six-year veteran who suited up in 10 games for the Bills in 2016, will rejoin the club after Buffalo waived fellow safety Trae Elston a day earlier. It's expected that Blanton will step in as the top backup to strong safety Micah Hyde.

Cowboys' Robert Blanton: Back in action
Blanton (ankle) has participated in contract drills during training camp, SportsDayDFW.com reports.
Blanton logged 106 tackles in the 2014 season, but he didn't record over 35 in his next two seasons -- partially due to last campaign being cut short by an ankle injury. He'll be in the thick of a battle with Jeff Heath for the starting strong safety spot, as Heath hasn't flashed overly-impressive numbers in his four-year career. Keep on an eye on this competition throughout preseason.

Cowboys' Robert Blanton: Signs with Cowboys
Blanton (ankle) signed a contract with the Cowboys on Thursday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.
Blanton played for the Bills last season, accumulating 35 combined tackles in 10 games. He started for a short stretch, but an injured ankle ended his season in what was an awful campaign health-wise for the Buffalo secondary. Blanton will likely fill a reserve role for the Cowboys going forward behind starting free safety Byron Jones. Blanton has 19 career starts and is only two years removed from a 106-tackle season, so he has some NFL experience if he were to be called upon during some portion of the upcoming season.
