The Titans placed Ficken (groin) on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Ficken made a sudden appearance on Tennessee's injury report Friday as a limited participant due to a groin injury. Ficken remains the only kicker on the Titans' roster after Tucker McCann was waived Monday due to an injury suffered in the team's preseason opener, Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com reports.
Ficken was claimed off waivers from the Jets on Aug. 1, and the 28-year-old kicker now finds himself without competition as the season quickly approaches. Through two weeks of the preseason, the Penn State product is 3-for-3 on field goals and 6-for-6 on PATs. Ficken has impressed in practice as well, hitting 48 of 53 field goals since joining the team. New York parted with the 28-year-old two days ago, but Ficken is now slated to return to the team in March after knocking down 13 of 15 field-goal tries and 12 of 15 point-after attempts during 2020.
