Zamort (knee) is not on the Giants' injury report Thursday.

  • Cardinals' Ronald Zamort: Reverts to IR

Zamort (knee) cleared waivers and was reverted to injured reserve Tuesday.

This move should come as no surprise. Zamort was declared out for the season after tearing his ACL in July. Combine that with his absence of NFL experience, and it's obvious why he cleared waivers.

  • Ronald Zamort: Let go by Cards

The Cardinals waived/injured Zamort (knee) on Monday, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.

In recent days, Zamort was taking advantage of Justin Bethel's absence from practice due to a hyperextended knee, running with the first-team defense over 2016 third-round pick Brandon Williams. However, Zamort proceeded to tear his ACL on Saturday, ending his brief dalliance in a significant position. If he passes through waivers unclaimed, the performance was likely enough to earn a place on injured reserve with the Cardinals for the upcoming season.

  • Cardinals' Ronald Zamort: Out for season with torn ACL

Zamort has suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season, Kent Somers of AZcentral.com reports.

Zamort, who was getting extended run with the first-team defense recently, suffered the injury during Saturday's practice, and subsequent tests confirmed the severity. He's fully expected to miss the rest of the season and could potentially be released with an injury settlement once reverted to injured reserve. Justin Bethel (knee), who is expected to miss at least a couple more days of training camp, will likely be the favorite to land a spot in the top unit once healthy.
