Davis and the Falcons agreed to a one-year contract Friday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports. Davis spent the 2022 campaign with the Browns' organization, recording five tackles while appearing in five contests with the team. The 26-year-old operated exclusively as a special-teams option with Cleveland and will likely find himself in a similar role with Atlanta in 2023.... See More ... See Less

Tae Davis: Tries out for Bears
Davis (undisclosed) worked out for the Bears on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Davis was released from IR by the Raiders on Sept. 2. The 26-year-old appears to be fully recovered and ready to earn a chance with another franchise.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Tae Davis: Heads to IR
The Raiders placed Davis (undisclosed) on injured reserve Sunday, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Barring an injury settlement, Davis will miss the entire 2022 campaign. The linebacker last played in the NFL in 2020, when he made 13 appearances for the Browns.... See More ... See Less -
Tae Davis: Let go Sunday
Davis was released by the Texans on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Davis spent the entirety of the 2021 season on IR with an undisclosed injury, but he was practicing with the team in camp. He last played with the Browns in 2020, recording seven tackles on 212 special-teams snaps. He'll now try to earn an opportunity elsewhere.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Tae Davis: Practicing this preseason
Davis (undisclosed) was a participant during Houston's training camp practice Saturday, John Harris of the team's official site reports. Davis re-signed with the Texans in February after sitting out the entirety of the 2021 regular season on the team's injured reserve list. The 25-year-old's undisclosed injury status now seems to be cleared up after he was involved in multiple high-collision plays during Saturday's practice, according to Harris. Davis played 212 snaps on special teams over 13 games with Cleveland in 2020, and he should leverage this experience while pushing for a reserve role with Houston this preseason.... See More ... Tae Davis: Shifts to waivers
The Texans waived/injured Davis (undisclosed) on Monday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports. Davis is expected to clear waivers and land on injured reserve. The 25-year-old will need to reach an injury settlement with the Texans before playing again this year. Through 13 games last year, he notched seven tackles while playing mostly on special teams.... Browns' Tae Davis: To start against Jets
Davis will draw the start at middle linebacker for Sunday's matchup against the Jets. After starter B.J. Goodson tested positive for COVID-19 and was subsequently placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the job is now Davis' to hold down as the Browns look to secure a playoff position. Goodson has been Cleveland's leader this season in combined tackles with 91, which means Davis should see plenty of opportunities and could be a sneaky add as a low-rostered IDP option.... Browns' Tae Davis: Shakes off injury
Davis (elbow) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game versus the Steelers, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Davis will return to the lineup after spending the last two games on the sidelines. Even when he was healthy, Davis rarely played on defense, as B.J. Goodson handled a majority of the snaps at middle linebacker. Davis likely will handle a similar regimen going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Tae Davis: Back at practice
Davis (elbow) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Davis was set to miss significant time after suffering the elbow injury in Week 3, so the fact that he's back at practice is a positive sign. He'll hope to progress into full practice at some point during the week to have a good chance to play Sunday. If he's forced to sit out again, however, B.J. Goodson is expected to continue to start at middle linebacker.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Tae Davis: Will miss time
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said Davis (elbow) will miss significant time, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Davis' injury coincides with the return of Mack Wilson, who is easing his way back into the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Tae Davis: Gets hurt Sunday
Davis (elbow) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Washington, Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official site reports. It's unclear how Davis suffered the injury, however, he was forced to leave the game in the beginning of the second quarter. As long as Davis is out, Malcolm Smith is the only active healthy linebacker left for the Browns.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: Healthy scratch Sunday
Davis (coach's decision) won't play in Sunday's game against the Lions, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports. Davis will get the healthy scratch for the second time this season, and he started the year as a starter for the Giants. It obviously hasn't gone according to plan, as the 23-year-old has played just 60 defensive snaps this campaign, accumulating six tackles (three solo). David Mayo and Josiah Tauaefa will act as the team's depth inside linebackers for the game Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: Ready to rock
Davis cleared the concussion protocol Monday, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports. Davis was a full participant in Monday's practice and appears back to full health. With Ryan Connelly (knee) done for the season, Davis projects to play a starting role in New York's linebacker corps versus the Patriots on Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: Sports non-contact jersey
Davis (concussion) is wearing a non-contact jersey in Thursday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Davis is progressing through the league's five-step concussion protocol. He appears to have a shot at suiting up Sunday versus the Vikings, but he'll first need to be fully cleared by an independent neurologist. If Davis is able to go, he could be a solid IDP play with Alec Ogletree (hamstring) banged up and Ryan Connelly (knee) out for the season.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: Exits with concussion
Davis (concussion) won't return to Sunday's game versus the Buccaneers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Davis lost his starting job to Ryan Connelly last week, and now he's dealing with a concussion. He'll need to clear the league's protocol before he can play, with his next chance coming Week 4 versus the Redskins.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: No practice Monday
Coach Pat Shurmur said Monday that Davis is "not feeling well" and did not practice Monday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. Davis projects to start at inside linebacker for the Giants, so it makes sense that the team would take a cautious approach to his participation while ill. The second-year pro will work to get fully healthy and return to practice without missing much time.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: Draws start Sunday
Davis will start at inside linebacker in place of the injured Alec Ogletree (concussion) during Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Davis posted a career-high eight tackles and also added a sack during the Giants' Week 16 loss to the Colts. The rookie linebacker figures to see a healthy snap count again Sunday next to fellow starter B.J. Goodson.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: Starting role on tap
Davis will replace Alec Ogletree (concussion) at inside linebacker during Sunday's game versus the Colts. Davis' duties have been geared toward a defensive role lately, and he'll finally have a chance to step in as a starter. The undrafted rookie has 21 tackles and a sack this year and will be tough to depend on in IDP settings.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tae Davis: Will play Sunday
Davis (ankle) is active for Sunday's game versus the Redskins. Davis left Week 13's game versus the Bears early with an ankle injury and didn't return. He was able to work at practice this week, though, and will be ready for a divisional matchup. His role in the defense will remain limited behind Alec Ogletree and B.J. Goodson.... See More ... Giants' Tae Davis: Not on injury report
Davis is absent from the Giants' injury report Wednesday. Davis missed the first two games of the 2018 season due to a hamstring injury but appears to have gotten healthy. The depth linebacker will work to suit up against the Texans on Sunday, and serve as a special teams option and backup inside linebacker.... See More ... See Less
