DeShawn Williams: Gets another look with Carolina
The Panthers signed Williams to their practice squad Wednesday.
Carolina waived Williams on Tuesday, but he has signed with the team's practice squad one day later. The veteran defensive lineman had been suiting up in a rotational role for the Panthers prior to being waived and totaled 13 tackles (six solo), including 0.5 sacks, over 10 contests.

Williams has appeared in two games with Carolina this season, recording two total tackles (one solo). He'll provide the team with an additional depth option on the defensive line against the Falcons on Sunday.

Williams (knee) agreed to a contract with the Panthers on Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Williams is set to rejoin new Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who held the same role with the Broncos last season. Over 17 regular-season games with Denver in 2022, the 30-year-old defensive tackle logged career highs in sacks (4.5) and defensive snaps (565) to go along with 37 tackles. Williams is expected to provide valuable depth alongside younger defensive tackles Derrick Brown and Shy Tuttle in Carolina.
