Jets' Blake Cashman: Tests positive for COVID-19
Cashman's (groin) placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday was a result of a positive test for the virus, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.
Before landing on the list, Cashman had been residing on injured reserve with the groin injury he sustained Week 7 in New England. Since the Jets had yet to designate the reserve linebacker for return from IR prior to him landing on the list, Cashman likely won't be cleared to resume practicing this week even if he's vaccinated and clears all COVID-19-related protocols in short order. With that in mind, Cashman is safe to rule out for Sunday's game against the Saints, though he could have a chance to return at some point during the final four contests of the Jets' season.... Jets' Blake Cashman: Out at least two weeks
Cashman is expected to miss two weeks after injuring his hamstring during Sunday's contest, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
After a strong rookie campaign in 2019, Cashman's 2020 was plagued by hamstring issues. He landed on IR with a hamstring injury on two separate occasions last year, so his latest injury should be concerning.
