  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Limited in practice Wednesday

Zaccheaus (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

Zaccheaus continues his streak of limited practices from Week 7 prep into Week 8 prep. The wide receiver was inactive for the Falcons' Week 7 win over the 49ers despite logging three consecutive limited sessions. This contest shows Wednesday's participation level is nothing new and does not yet move the needle for Zaccheaus' potential to suit up Sunday against the Buccaneers.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Inactive with shoulder injury

Zaccheaus (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

Zaccheaus battled a shoulder injury throughout Week 7 prep, logging limited practice participation in all three sessions. The wide receiver ultimately lost the battle and will need additional time to recover from the injury, leaving Zachariah Branch as the Falcons' No. 3 wide receiver for Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Trending down for Week 7

Zaccheaus (shoulder) is trending toward not being available for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Zaccheaus was limited by a shoulder issue in all three practices of Week 7 prep. That earned him the questionable tag for Sunday's game, but it looks like the veteran wide receiver will miss his first game of the 2026 season. Zachariah Branch would take on a larger role offensively and on special teams as a returner if Zaccheaus is unable to play.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Questionable for Week 7

Zaccheaus (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.

Zaccheaus practice reps were limited during Week 7 prep due to a shoulder issue, which he may have picked up during the Falcons' Week 6 loss to the Bears. If he cannot play Sunday, then rookie third-rounder Zachariah Branch would be in line for more work both on offense and on special teams as a returner, with running back Brian Robinson also in the mix for return duties.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Logs another limited practice

Zaccheaus (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

It's the second straight limited practice to begin the week for Zaccheaus, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. He may need to upgrade to full participation Friday to avoid being tagged with a designation heading into the weekend. Zaccheaus had four catches on six targets through three weeks but hasn't caught any of his five targets over Atlanta's past three contests.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Limited practice Wednesday

Zaccheaus (shoulder) was a limited participant at the Falcons' practice Wednesday, Daniel Flick of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Zaccheaus appears to have picked up a shoulder injury during the team's 31-23 loss to the Bears in Week 6. The fact that he was able to practice in any capacity Wednesday would suggest that it is a minor issue, but the wide receiver will have two more chances to prove his health before Sunday's matchup with the 49ers.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Just one target Monday

Zaccheaus failed to haul in his lone target during the Falcons' 45-24 win over the Saints on Monday.

The Falcons relied more heavily on the running game Monday, with Michael Penix attempting only 20 passes while Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson combined for 203 yards and five touchdowns on 33 carries. That left few targets to go around for the Falcons' pass catchers, with none other than Drake London (six) seeing more than three targets from quarterback Michael Penix. Zaccheaus' 21 offensive snaps were third-most among Falcons wide receivers behind London (51) and Jahan Dotson (36). However, despite entering the season as the team's WR3, Zaccheaus has just four catches (on seven targets) for 17 yards through the first four games of the regular season, and rookie wideout Zachariah Branch has seemingly taken over as Atlanta's primary returner on kickoffs and special teams. Up next for the Falcons is a Week 5 home showdown against the Ravens.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Two catches in Thursday's win

Zaccheaus brought in both of his targets for nine yards and returned one punt for four yards during the Falcons' 35-14 win over the Packers on Thursday.

Both of Zaccheaus catches occurred in the second quarter on the same drive, which ended with a 44-yard field goal by Nick Folk. Zaccheaus is up to four catches (on six targets) for 17 yards through three regular-season games while operating as a depth option in the passing game, though Thursday's win may have been the start for a more explosive offense for the Falcons with Michael Penix under center, rather than Tua Tagovailoa, Cooper Rush (coach's decision) or Jack Strand (coach's decision). The Falcons will travel to New Orleans to face the Saints on Monday, Oct. 5.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Plays versatile role in loss

Zaccheaus caught one of three targets for three yards while returning four kickoffs for 79 yards in Sunday's 34-3 loss to the Panthers.

Zaccheaus played 30 offensive snaps and seven special-teams snaps in Sunday's contest. The veteran wideout's versatility is valued, although he remains down the depth chart for the time being.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Catches sole target in loss

Zaccheaus caught his sole target for five yards and returned one kickoff for 29 yards in the Falcons' 20-13 loss to the Steelers on Sunday.

Zaccheaus was the Falcons' WR3, QB3, and RB3 in Sunday's contest while also serving the No. 2 kickoff and punt returner. However, Zaccheaus played on just 18 of Atlanta's 60 offensive snaps and added another five on special teams.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Jack-of-all-trades for Week 1

Zaccheaus will serve as the Falcons' WR3, the backup returner on punts and kickoffs, and the emergency third option at both quarterback and running back for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Steelers, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

The Falcons have two quarterbacks (Cooper Rush and Jack Strand) and two running backs (Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson) on the game-day roster for Sunday's regular-season opener. Most of Zaccheaus' playing time figures to come on three-wideout sets as he works behind Drake London and Jahan Dotson, with rookie third-rounder Zachariah Branch also in the mix for offensive snaps.

  • Falcons' Olamide Zaccheaus: Open competition for WR2

Zaccheaus enters training camp in a battle against Jahan Dotson and rookie third-rounder Zachariah Branch for the Falcons' No. 2 wide receiver job behind Drake London (undisclosed), Tim Weaver of USA Today reports.

After stints in Philadelphia, Washington and Chicago, Zaccheaus opted to sign a one-year contract in March to rejoin the Falcons, with whom he previously played from 2019-22. The Virginia product has eclipsed 500 receiving yards just once in his NFL career, but given Atlanta's lack of reliable pass catchers behind London and tight end Kyle Pitts, Zaccheaus could establish himself as a consistent target for whoever is under center between Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix (knee). Dotson brings four years of NFL experience to the table and little more production than Zaccheaus, but the journeyman's biggest competition figures to come from the rookie Branch, who made a strong impression on coaches with his speed, explosiveness and playmaking ability during college and in OTAs.
