Marquez Williams: Waived by Browns
Williams was waived off the Browns' reserve/did not report list on Friday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Williams was placed on the did not report list in late July to save the Browns a spot on the active roster. It's unclear why the 24-year-old never reported to camp and if he has any plans of returning to football this season, although he is now free to sign elsewhere.

Williams was placed on the Browns' reserve/did not report list on Thursday.
Williams spent much of 2017 on the Browns' practice squad before earning a promotion to the active roster in Week 17. It's unclear why he's not yet reported to camp or when he's expected to return to action. Look for Danny Vitale to handle all the fullback duties while Williams is out.

Browns' Marquez Williams: Earns promotion
Williams was promoted to the Browns' active roster Friday, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.
The rookie seventh-round pick went through training camp with the Jaguars, but he ultimately was waived due to an injury. He's yet to make his NFL debut but may get a chance Sunday against the Steelers, since all four other running backs on the Browns' roster are nursing an injury of some sort. Williams fills the roster spot that opened up upon the Thursday release of B.W. Webb.

With Williams seemingly healthy, he'll be taken off injured reserve and will land in the free-agent market. The fullback was picked by the Jaguars in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
