Bengals' Jarveon Williams: Called up by Bengals
Williams was promoted to the Bengals' active roster Saturday, Jay Morrison of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Williams has spent the entirety of his rookie season on the Bengals' practice unit, but will get the opportunity to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Vikings. It looks like the Bengals were looking to add depth to their running back corps, as starter Joe Mixon (concussion) is considered questionable for the contest. Williams does not figure to have much of an impact on offense, but he could receive an opportunity to impress via special teams.

Bengals' Jarveon Williams: Signs with Bengals practice squad

Bengals' Jarveon Williams: Significant work expected Thursday
Williams will be in store for an increased workload in Thursday's preseason contest against the Colts with Jeremy Hill (ankle) and Tra Carson (undisclosed) likely sidelined, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
In addition to Hill and Carson, Giovani Bernard and Joe Mixon will receive limited snaps, at best, leaving Williams to gobble up whatever remains as the sole running back remaining on the roster. Through three preseason games and 40 offensive snaps, Williams has tallied 14 carries for 33 yards and two receptions (on three targets) for 19 yards.

Bengals' Jarveon Williams: Passes physical
Williams (undisclosed) passed a physical Monday and was able to practice with the team, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official website reports.
Williams started all four years at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and he had over 1,000 all-purpose yards each of his final two years. The Bengals have some serious talent at running back with rookie veteran Giovani Bernard, Jeremy Hill and highly touted rookie Joe Mixon. Williams faces an uphill battle to win playing time in Cincinnati.
