  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Totals 115 tackles

Lloyd had 115 tackles (59 solo), eight passes defensed, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 17 games during the 2022 regular season. The rookie first-round pick played an every-down role at times for Jacksonville this season, and he finished third on the team in tackles. Lloyd should take on a more consistent gig during his sophomore campaign in 2023, though his IPD potential likely will remain more limited while playing alongside Foye Oluokun, who has two straight 180-plus tackle seasons.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Logs first pick since Week 3

Lloyd recorded nine tackles (six solo) and one interception during Thursday's 19-3 win over the Jets. While Jacksonville played without both Travon Walker (ankle) and De'Shaan Dixon (coach's decision) in Week 16 against the Jets, Lloyd paced the team with nine stops and recorded his third interception of the 2022-23 campaign on a Zach Wilson heave to the end zone to close out the first half. Although Walker is now anticipated to return from his two-game absence in Week 17 versus Houston, Lloyd will still likely play a prominent role in the Jaguars' defensive game plan on New Years Day.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Registers nine tackles vs. Dallas

Lloyd tallied nine tackles (seven solo) in an overtime win against the Cowboys in Week 15. Lloyd made his second straight start for the Jaguars and finished third on the team with nine stops. That was the most he has recorded since notching 11 tackles against Houston in Week 5. Chad Muma (ankle) had started over Lloyd in Weeks 12 and 13 before injuring his ankle, and he played just 11 snaps in his return against Dallas. However, Muma is listed as a starter in the Jaguars' Week 16 press release, per Jordan de Lugo of Generation Jaguar, so Lloyd may see his snap count decrease Thursday against the Jets.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Eight tackles in start Week 14

Lloyd recorded eight tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans. Lloyd stepped up into a starting role with third-round rookie Chad Muma (ankle) sidelined against Tennessee. As a result, the 2022 first-round selection played every defensive snap alongside league-leading tackler Foye Oluokun for the first time since Week 8. Lloyd played just about every down over the first nine games of the season, but he saw his playing time decline to a rotational role over the past three contests. He should continue to fill in at inside linebacker if Muma does manage to work his way back into practice Week 15.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Slated to start Sunday

Lloyd will start Sunday against the Titans in the absence of Chad Muma (ankle), John Shipley of SI.com reports. Lloyd started the Jaguars' first nine games of the season, totaling 69 tackles and two interceptions during that stretch. However, he's reverted to a reserve gig over the past three games, recording 12 stops in that span. Look for Lloyd to return to relevancy in IDP leagues now that he's back in a starting role.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Likely out at least a week

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday that he expects Lloyd (undisclosed) to return to practice sometime next week, Eugene Frenette of Jacksonville's official site reports. Loyd was initially listed as day-to-day, but it appears like the rookie will now miss the Jaguars' preseason opener. Regardless, it doesn't appear like the issue is anything major, so the first-round pick still has a shot at opening the regular season as the starting inside linebacker next to Foye Oluokun.

  • Jaguars' Devin Lloyd: Heads to Jacksonville

The Jaguars selected Lloyd in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 27th overall. Jacksonville moved back into the first round to get the sliding Lloyd out of Utah. Lloyd was considered arguably the top middle linebacker in the class prior to the combine but some middling workout metrics in the 40-yard dash and vertical jump dropped him to the 20s. Those measurables did not prevent Lloyd from being an absolute force for the Utes, though, as he racked up 255 tackles, 43 tackles for loss and 16.5 sacks over 47 career games. He has coverage ability to boot as Lloyd snared five picks and broke up 13 passes, 10 of which came as a senior. Lloyd and Foyesade Oluokun combine to give Jacksonville a strong group of inside linebackers.
