  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Gets into end zone Thursday

Golden brought in seven of 13 targets for 79 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' 27-19 win over the Panthers on Thursday. The second-year speedster finished second in receptions and receiving yards for the Packers on the night, while also leading the way in targets with a season-high-tying figure. Golden struck for his fourth touchdown of the season as well on a 24-yard scoring grab just after the two-minute warning in the first half, and the 2025 first-round pick now has at least six catches in four consecutive contests. Golden should remain busy in a Week 9 road showdown against the Patriots on Sunday, Nov. 8, one where New England shutdown cornerback Christian Gonzalez could spend the majority of his time on Christian Watson.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Active for Thursday's game

Golden (shoulder/foot) is listed as active Thursday against the Panthers, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Golden was contained to just one limited walkthrough (Wednesday) during Week 8 prep due to shoulder and foot injuries, but James Palmer of NFL on Prime Video reported earlier Thursday that the Packers were optimistic about the second-year wide receiver's availability. Indeed, Golden is suiting up, looking to build upon the 36-540-3 line on 69 targets that he's racked up through the first seven contests of the season.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Optimism for Thursday availability

The Packers expect Golden (shoulder/foot), who is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Panthers, to suit up, James Palmer of NFL on Prime Video reports. Golden was given a questionable tag after being listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's walkthrough following practice absences Monday and Tuesday. If the 2025 first-round pick gets the green light when game statuses are confirmed approximately 90 minutes prior to Thursday night's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff, Golden would likely occupy his customary starting role across from Christian Watson.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Questionable for Thursday

Golden (shoulder/foot) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Panthers, Weston Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Golden opened Week 8 prep as a listed non-participant both Monday and Tuesday due to shoulder and foot injuries, but he was able to upgrade to limited at Wednesday's walkthrough and thus put himself in a position to play Thursday. His status will be confirmed, one way or another, about 90 minutes before an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Sits out walkthrough practice

Golden (shoulder/foot) didn't participate in Tuesday's walkthrough practice. Coming out of Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Lions, Golden is nursing a pair of injuries that have resulted in him going down as a non-participant on the Packers' Week 8 injury report. The Packers will see if Golden can upgrade to limited or full participation in Wednesday's session before deciding whether he'll carry a designation into Thursday's game against the Panthers. Despite leading the NFL with six drops through the first seven weeks, Golden has emerged as a useful fantasy asset in his second NFL season with 36 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns on 69 targets to go with six rushing yards.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Listed as DNP on Monday

Golden (shoulder/foot) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports After being limited last week due to a shoulder injury, Golden was able to suit up Sunday at Detroit, logging an 85 percent snap share and corralling six of 12 targets for 39 yards. As Week 8 prep kicks off, he's also tending to a foot issue. Golden will have two more chances to be listed as something other than DNP this week before the Packers potentially tag him with a designation for Thursday's game against the Panthers.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Makes six catches Sunday

Golden gathered in six of 12 targets for 39 yards during Sunday's 20-17 defeat in Detroit. Golden has been targeted at least 12 times by QB Jordan Love in four of seven appearances this season, resulting in three 100-yard efforts to date. Drops and near misses between the two continue to be a feature in the Packers offense, though, as Golden has recorded a catch rate of 50 percent or better four times, with his mark in 2026 sitting at only 52.2 percent. Golden and Green Bay next have a Thursday night matchup with the Panthers on the docket in Week 8.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Set to play Sunday

Golden (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Lions. After being limited in practice this week, Golden is good to go for Sunday's divisional matchup in what projects to be a shootout at Ford Field. In just six games this season, Golden has already surpassed last year's marks in catches, yards and touchdowns, producing a 30-501-3 receiving line on 51 targets. He's developed into an every-week WR2 for fantasy.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Limited again Thursday

Golden (shoulder) was limited at Thursday's practice, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Both Golden and fellow WR Christian Watson (ankle) have opened Week 7 prep as limited on both of the Packers' first two injury reports. Head coach Matt LaFleur told Demovsky on Thursday that he has no concern about the availability of either player for Sunday's contest at Detroit. Friday's report will reveal if Golden or Watson enter the weekend with a designation.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Coach not worried about shoulder

Head coach Matt LaFleur said Thursday that the Packers have no concern regarding Golden's (shoulder) availability for Sunday's game against the Lions, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Golden and Christian Watson (ankle) were both listed as limited participants at Wednesday's practice, but Green Bay's coach is confident that both starting wideouts will be available Sunday. Watson (538) and Golden (501) have combined for the most yards by any pair of teammates at wide receiver in the league this season.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Dealing with shoulder issue

Golden (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Golden's inclusion coincides with QB Jordan Love (back) and WR Christian Watson (ankle), among others, also being listed as limited to kick off Week 7 prep. The situation thus bears monitoring as the week continues to see if any of the trio is in danger of missing Sunday's contest at Detroit.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Tops 100 yards with TD

Golden caught six of 13 targets for 104 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-13 win over the Cowboys. Golden reached 100 receiving yards for the second consecutive game and third time overall this season. He capped the opening drive with a nine-yard touchdown catch, which gives the 2025 first-round pick three receiving touchdowns in his last four games after Golden began his career with a 16-game regular-season touchdown drought. Golden would have had an even bigger game if not for a pair of near-misses in the second quarter on a deep ball and an end-zone pass that were both in his hands before falling incomplete. Heading into a Week 7 matchup with Detroit's weak secondary, Golden has drawn a team-high 57 targets from Jordan Love, which is nine more than Christian Watson.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Eclipses century mark in win

Golden secured six of seven targets for 123 yards in the Packers' 31-7 win over the Bears on Sunday. He also returned two punts for 27 yards. As good as Golden's afternoon was, he was actually slightly outshined by fellow wideout Christian Watson, who had 20 more receiving yards on the same number of catches and one additional target. Nevertheless, Golden's afternoon included a new career high in receiving yards, as well as a career-high-tying reception total. The second-year speedster is already well on his way to a breakout campaign, and Golden now has at least seven targets in four of his first five games of the campaign. The 2025 first-round pick will take a 24-397-2 line on 44 targets into a favorable Week 6 home matchup against the Packers next Sunday night.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: WRs to Start

Golden caught a touchdown in Week 4 at Tampa Bay, otherwise he would have had a mediocre stat line with three catches for 21 yards on seven targets. He doesn't have an easy matchup in Week 5 against the Bears, who are No. 5 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. However, Golden's first NFL touchdown came in the playoffs against Chicago last season with four catches for 84 yards on five targets. He's averaging 9.3 targets per game, and the three receivers with at least eight targets against the Bears (Jalen Coker, Tetairoa McMillan and DeVonta Smith) have scored at least 12.5 PPR points. Golden should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Records TD catch in win

Golden brought in three of seven targets for 21 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' 17-14 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed once for six yards. Jordan Love threw for a modest 197 yards overall on the afternoon, so Golden's subdued production can be viewed within that context. The second-year speedster tied with Tucker Kraft for the team lead in targets on the afternoon, and although Golden brought in less than half of them. he recorded his second touchdown grab of the campaign on a two-yard reception early in the second quarter. Golden's reception and yardage totals were season lows, but he still on pace for a breakout second campaign with an 18-274-2 line going into a Week 5 home divisional matchup against the Bears next Sunday.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: WRs to Start

Golden continues to impress in his sophomore campaign, and he's worth starting in all leagues in Week 4 at Tampa Bay. He just had five catches for 100 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets in Week 3 against Atlanta, and he has now scored at least 15.5 PPR points in two of three games this year. Jayden Reed (neck) is out for the season, and Golden, Christian Watson and Tucker Kraft should dominate targets from Jordan Love. The Buccaneers have allowed at least one receiver to score at least 20 PPR points in each of the past two games, with Denzel Boston in Week 2 and Jordan Addison in Week 3. I expect Watson and Golden to have success against this secondary, and Golden should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all formats.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Hits century mark in loss

Golden brought in five of 12 targets for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' 35-14 loss to the Falcons on Thursday. Golden set the pace for the Packers in both receiving yards and targets with totals that also qualified as or tied new single-game career highs. The second-year wideout has hit the ground running this season, quickly generating a 15-253-1 line on 30 targets while showing clearly improved chemistry with Jordan Love. The speedster also added his first touchdown catch of the campaign on an impressive 15-yard grab in the fourth quarter where Golden had to reach behind him to reel in the ball, and he'll remain a coveted option in all fantasy formats in a Week 4 road matchup against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Oct. 4.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: WRs to Start

Golden was great in Week 1 against Minnesota with six catches for 95 yards on 12 targets. He struggled in Week 2 at the Jets with four catches for 58 yards on six targets, but he should be more productive in Week 3 against Atlanta. Jayden Reed (neck) is out, and Jordan Love should lean even more on Golden, Christian Watson and Tucker Kraft. I like all three as starting options against the Falcons, and Golden should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues. Atlanta is down cornerback A.J. Terrell (groin), and Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker just combined for 13 catches for 167 yards on 19 targets against the Falcons in Week 2.

  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Sleeper WRs

I like Christian Watson and Golden as starters in all leagues in Week 2 at the Jets. Hopefully, we can see something positive from Jayden Reed as well, but he was quiet in Week 1 at Minnesota with three catches for 20 yards on seven targets. Watson went off for six catches, 147 yards and two touchdowns on eight targets, and Golden had six catches for 95 yards on 12 targets. He now has four games in his career with at least five targets, and he scored at least 11.3 PPR points in each outing.
... See More ... See Less
  • Packers' Matthew Golden: Records one catch in preseason

Golden finished the Packers' preseason schedule with one catch (on one target) for 19 yards across two games. Golden was held without a target in the team's exhibition opener but was on the receiving end of a dot from QB Jordan Love in Denver in preseason Week 2, displaying the duo's growing rapport. Green Bay invested a first-round pick in Golden during the 2025 Draft, but a crowded receiving corps capped him to just a 29-361-0 line on 44 targets in 14 regular-season games as a rookie. With Romeo Doubs having moved on to the Patriots in free agency and Dontayvion Wicks getting traded to the Eagles this offseason, the WR options for Love are more clear cut between Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Golden, giving the latter a better chance to tap into his potential in the upcoming campaign.
