Saints' Mason Pline: Reverts to IR with New Orleans
Pline (upper body) reverted to injured reserve with the Saints on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Pline left Sunday's 27-13 preseason loss to the Chargers a little worse for wear, sustaining an undisclosed upper-body injury in the contest. The injury will cause the tight end to miss the entirety of the 2025 campaign while on injured reserve, unless he's able to reach an injury settlement with New Orleans.

New Orleans waived Pline (upper body) with an injury designation on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Pline suffered an undisclosed upper body injury during the Saints' preseason opener against the Chargers on Sunday, and now he's going to waivers. Unless he gets picked up by another team, he will eventually end up on New Orleans' injured reserve list.

Pline was waived by the 49ers on Monday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Pline had been part of the organization since May of 2024. He will be free to sign with any team as a free agent if Pline passes through waivers unclaimed. San Francisco still has Luke Farrell, Ross Dwelley, Brayden Willis and Jake Tonges competing for depth roles behind George Kittle.

The 49ers signed Pline (undisclosed) to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Pline first latched on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in May. He was waived just before the start of the regular season but then rejoined the organization as part of the practice squad. Pline was placed on the practice-squad injured list due to an undisclosed issue in mid-December but now appears to be past that issue. He'll have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during training camp next summer.
