Lions' Michael Badgley: Returning to Detroit
Badgley and the Lions agreed to a contract Friday, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
Badgley joined the Lions in early October and was still able to tally 100 points while serving as the placekicker for the team's final 12 games. He'll now return to Detroit for the 2023 campaign, one that many expect to be a leap forward for the Lions after a promising 2022.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Reaches 100 points in 2022
Badgley converted two of three field-goal attempts and both of his PATs during Sunday's 20-16 loss to Detroit.
Badgley missed wide left on a 46-yard attempt but otherwise received enough opportunities to top 100 points for the season. Now set to hit unrestricted free agency after putting together an impressive season between 13 total games with the Bears and Lions, Badgley is a strong candidate -- but not a lock -- to return to Detroit in 2023.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Totals 11 points
Badgley converted two of two field-goal attempts and five of five PATs during Sunday's 41-10 win over the Bears.
Following three consecutive weeks with at least three field-goal tries, Badgley has attempted just three over his past two games combined. At least he was fed a healthy amount of PATs this time around to buoy his fantasy output. Next up for Badgley is a Week 18 matchup with a beatable Packers defense within the outdoor confines of Lambeau Field.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Little work on Christmas Eve
Badgley converted his only field-goal attempt and two of two PATs during Saturday's 37-23 loss to the Panthers.
In a weird day for Detroit's offense, the passing game remained on fire, but the complete lack of a run game made it hard for the Lions to consistently get into scoring position. This led to a lack of opportunities for Badgley, who didn't attempt a field goal until the final minute of the game and was hindered along the way by both a Lions red-zone fumble plus Detroit's decision to go for two after a touchdown in the first half. He'll look to bounce back against Chicago in Week 17 within the friendly confines of Ford Field.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Three more field-goal attempts
Badgley converted two of three field-goal attempts and two of two PATs during Sunday's 20-17 win over the Jets.
In three games since the Detroit offense has returned to full health, Badgley has racked up 10 field-goal attempts and 10 PATs, putting him up with the top producers at his position. Badgley has made eight of those field goals while only missing from beyond 40 yards (including one from 54 yards out Sunday). With Sunday technically marking a down day for the Lions offense against a tough Jets defense, Badgley seems positioned as a high-floor fantasy option entering a Week 16 matchup with Carolina.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Posts 10 points against Vikings
Badgley converted two of three field-goal attempts and four of four PATs during Sunday's 34-23 win over Jacksonville.
Badgley followed up a huge Week 13 performance against the Jaguars with another solid stat line, thanks again to the offensive firepower of a fully healthy Lions offense. With that said, he could have had a bigger day had he not missed a 47-yard attempt at the end of the first half. He'll look to improve upon this performance in a Week 15 outdoors matchup in New York against the Jets.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Monster day against Jaguars
Badgley converted four of four field-goal attempts and four of four PATs during Sunday's 41-14 win over Jacksonville.
The Lions offense has promptly returned to the high-scoring ways they flashed in September now that the unit is practically back to full health. While Badgley won't have these sorts of monster outings every week, he should have the upside to do so most games down the stretch given Detroit's relatively soft schedule. Up next is a Week 14 Ford Field showdown in Minnesota.

Lions' Michael Badgley: First miss of season
Badgley converted one of two field-goal attempts and both of his PATs during Thursday's 28-25 loss to Buffalo.
Badgley was 10-for-10 on field-goal attempts before shanking a 29-yard attempt in the third quarter. He somewhat redeemed himself in the fourth quarter by nailing a game-tying 51-yard kick with 23 seconds left in regulation. Now that Detroit's offense is getting back on track after a mid-season, injury-induced offensive lull, fantasy managers could do worse at kicker than Badgley in a Week 13 matchup with the Jaguars.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Held to one FGA
Badgley converted his only field-goal attempt and all four PATs during Sunday's 31-18 win over the Giants.
The good news is that the Lions offense is doing well in the returns of D'Andre Swift and DJ Chark (ankle). However, for a second week in a row, the unit was too efficient for Badgley to put together a monster fantasy day. It is possible it could all come together for him in Week 12 if a tough Buffalo defense can force Detroit into more field-goal attempts.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Provides winning kick
Badgley made his only field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Bears.
Badgley clinched Detroit's second straight victory with a PAT with just over two minutes remaining. He made a 25-yard field goal earlier in the contest, ultimately totaling seven points after posting merely one in Week 9.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Minimal opportunities
Badgley did not attempt a field goal but converted his only PAT during Sunday's 15-9 win over Green Bay.
After three productive games to begin the year, Badgley didn't get much to work with on a day the Lions put up just 254 yards of total offense. It obviously didn't help that Detroit went for two after one of its touchdowns. While Badgley has shown to have some upside in this Lions offense, he will be hard to trust in a Week 10 outdoor game against the Bears in Chicago.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Another solid performance
Badgley converted two of two field-goal attempts and three of three PATs during Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Dolphins.
Badgley may need to start handling kickoff duties to become a candidate for being Detroit's long-term answer at kicker, but he otherwise has been solid for the Lions through two games. The Miami product converted field goals from 26 and 42 yards out in this one and is now a perfect 8-for-8 on the year thanks to a four-field-goal showing he had with Chicago earlier in the season. Badgley will look to stay mistake-free in a potential Week 9 shootout against the Packers.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Officially on active roster
Badgley officially signed a contract with the Lions on Saturday.
Badgley had one more week of practice squad elevation, but the Lions opted to cement the status of their starting kicker. The well-traveled kicker has now converted all six of his attempts across three games combined with the Bears and Lions this season.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Moves back to practice squad
Badgley reverted to the Lions' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Badgley was elevated by Detroit for the second week in a row ahead of Sunday's loss to Dallas, making both of his field-goal attempts in the contest. The 27-year-old has now made all six of his attempts in three combined games between the Bears and Lions this season. Badgley is now eligible for one more practice-squad elevation before requiring a full spot on the active roster to continue suiting up for Detroit this season.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Drills 53-yard field goal
Badgley converted two of two field-goal attempts during Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Cowboys.
Badgley converted field goals from 40 and 53 yards out in what amounted to Detroit's only points of the game. However, Detroit's five offensive turnovers prevented the team from ending any other drives on a positive note. It will be interesting to see if the healthy returns of D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and possibly Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion) will help the offense get back on track in Week 8 against Miami.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Moves up to active roster
Badgley was elevated from the Lions' practice squad Saturday.
This makes three practice squad elevations for him, meaning the Lions will either need to sign Badgley to the active roster next week or find a new kicker. In two starts, Badgley has gone 4-for-4 on field-goal attempts and also connected on both of his extra-point tries.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Reverts to practice squad
Badgley reverted to the Lions' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Badgley served as the starting kicker during Sunday's 29-0 loss to New England after the team waived Austin Seibert last Friday. However, the practice-squad kicker did not get a chance to attempt a field goal against the Patriots due to the Lions' lack of offensive production in Week 5. Badgley will likely be elevated from the practice squad over each of the next two weeks before requiring a spot on the Lions' active roster in order to suit up moving forward this season.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Not needed in New England
Badgley did not log an attempt during Sunday's 29-0 loss to the Patriots.
Badgley seemed to be in a good spot for fantasy production after taking over kicking duties for a team that led the league in many offensive categories entering the week. However, the Lions had zero luck getting into scoring range and ultimately went 0-for-6 on fourth downs. Badgley could have had a couple of chances to score points in the second half, but the Detroit coaching staff seemingly saw no point in kicking field goals after a certain point. The entire offense will look to regroup during a Week 6 bye before attempting to get back on track within the indoor confines of AT&T stadium in Week 7.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Elevated for Week 5
The Lions elevated Badgley on Saturday from their practice squad to their active roster for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.
Badgley, who made all four of his kicks while playing for Chicago in Week 4, was signed to the Lions' practice squad Tuesday after being let go by the Bears on Monday. He figures to serve as the primary placekicker for Detroit after the Lions waived Austin Seibert (groin) on Friday.

Lions' Michael Badgley: Replacing Seibert
The Lions waived Austin Seibert (groin) on Friday, making Badgley the likely kicker this Sunday against New England, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Badgley spent three years with the Chargers before splitting time between the Colts and Titans last season. The Lions signed him to the practice squad Tuesday after cutting Dominik Eberle, who was a disaster filling in for an injured Seibert in the Week 4 loss to Seattle. It's Badgley's turn now, though the Lions could start from scratch and try someone else on the other side of a Week 6 bye.
