Poggi signed with the Patriots this spring after going undrafted out of Michigan. The fullback will now be free to sign elsewhere if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Patriots' Henry Poggi: Signs with Patriots
Poggi was claimed off waivers by New England on Wednesday, Jim McBride of the Boston Globe reports.
Poggi earned interest as a flier with New England after being waived by the Raiders. The undrafted free agent will spend training camp competing for a special teams role and faces an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster.
