Nichols signed a contract with the Dolphins on Thursday, Travis Wingfield of the team's official site reports.
Nichols has previously spent time with the Cardinals over the past two seasons and even logged a stint in the XFL, recording three interceptions for the Houston Roughnecks. He'll now look to compete for a reserve role in the Dolphins' secondary.

Nichols earned an NFL contract after he led the XFL in interceptions with three during the shortened 2020 season. The 25-year-old spent time with the Cardinals' practice and active squads, suiting up in two games in 2018, making one solo tackle.
