  • Chiefs' Nick Bolton: Tops century mark in tackles

Bolton racked up 112 tackles (70 solo) and took a fumble to the house for a touchdown during 2021.

Bolton wasted no time integrating into the Chiefs' defense after being the first pick off the board for the club in the 2021 NFL Draft. He's gotten his career off to a promising start and could be a perennial triple-digit tackler if his rookie campaign is any indication.

Bolton (undisclosed) wasn't listed on Thursday's injury report.

Bolton was held out against the Steelers last week, likely as a precaution considering he was removed from COVID protocol only one day before the game. He should get a full week of practice under his belt before Sunday's game against the Bengals and move back into a starting role at linebacker.

  • Chiefs' Nick Bolton: Returns from COVID list

Bolton was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports, yet he still is listed as questionable for Sunday against the Steelers, according to the Chiefs' injury report.

Bolton only spent four days on the COVID list, but he still may not be ready to return. The second-round rookie has played a significant role on the Chiefs' defense, so his return Sunday against the Steelers would be a boost for the unit. However, if he is unable to play, Melvin Ingram would likely draw the start in Bolton's place.
