  • Commanders' Brycen Tremayne: Elevated from practice squad

    The Commanders elevated Tremayne from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Tremayne has been with the Commanders since signing as an undrafted free agent in May of 2023. He's spent his entire NFL tenure on Washington's practice squad, but the 25-year-old wide receiver has a chance at seeing his first regular-season action Sunday against the Browns. He'll likely contribute on special teams and provide some insurance at wide receiver after Noah Brown (groin) was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game.

    The Commanders signed Tremayne to a reserve/future contract Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Tremayne joined the Commanders as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford this past offseason. He was initially waived as part of the team's final roster cuts at the end of August, but he re-upped with Washington via the practice squad one day later. Tremayne never made his NFL debut during the 2023 regular season, and he will now look to carve out a role on the Commanders' 53-man roster heading into the 2024 campaign.
