Bills' Ray Davis: Questionable for Week 4
Davis (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Davis popped up on the injury report Thursday as a full participant, which would suggest he was possibly injured at the end of that practice. If Davis is unable to play Week 4, Ty Johnson and Frank Gore will likely handle the backup duties behind James Cook.

Bills' Ray Davis: No output in Week 3 win
Davis played five snaps on offense and five snaps on special teams without showing up in the box score otherwise in the Bills' 24-16 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
Davis' catch for no gain early in the fourth quarter was negated by a holding penalty by Alec Anderson. It appears Davis will not be a factor in the Bills' offensive gameplan this season, with Ty Johnson serving as the backup option in the backfield for James Cook. Davis should continue to see the field as a contributor on special teams, though he did not return a kickoff after doing so in each of the first two games of the regular season.

Bills' Ray Davis: Limited to kick returns Thursday
Davis returned one kickoff for 31 yards during Thursday's 41-31 win versus the Lions.
Davis logged just eight offensive snaps in Week 2 despite Ty Johnson (hamstring) being inactive, and he did not record any carries or receptions. It appears unlikely he'll have much fantasy utility in the near future unless starter James Cook misses time.

Bills' Ray Davis: Handles one touch in Week 1
Davis rushed one time for three yards in Buffalo's 36-31 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Frank Gore actually out-snapped Davis 10-5 behind James Cook, as both Davis and Gore rushed one time for three yards. If something were to ever happen to Cook, it looks like Gore could actually have a bigger role than expected, making Davis a shakier bench stash in fantasy.

Bills' Ray Davis: Tough night in final exhibition contest
Davis didn't receive a touch on offense but gained 11 yards on two punt returns while losing a fumble in Thursday's 28-27 preseason win over the Steelers.
His muffed punt return at the Buffalo 12-yard line in the first quarter led directly to Pittsburgh's first TD of the game on the very next play. It was a tough way for Davis to end his preseason, but the third-year RB has never returned a punt in his NFL career. Davis' spot as the No. 2 back behind James Cook seems fairly secure however, after he averaged 4.7 yards on 58 carries over 17 regular-season games last year.

Bills' Ray Davis: Scores in second preseason game
Davis rushed seven times for 21 yards and a touchdown while adding a 10-yard catch on his lone target in Saturday's 31-7 preseason win over the Browns.
Davis got the start at running back due to James Cook resting. Davis, a 2024 fourth-round pick, capped Buffalo's opening drive with a one-yard touchdown run and stayed in for the team's second possession. Cook will continue to lead Buffalo's backfield in the regular season as long as he's healthy, but Davis would be a must-roster fantasy option running behind Buffalo's elite offensive line if Cook gets hurt.

Bills' Ray Davis: Seven touches in preseason opener
Davis carried the ball three times for 21 yards and caught all four of his targets for 32 yards in Saturday's 29-14 preseason win over the Panthers.
James Cook got the start in the backfield during the Bills' preseason opener and played the whole first quarter, but Davis was the next RB into the game and had a very productive day. Davis' numbers as a pass-catcher were surprising considering that the third-year back has just 27 career catches in 34 regular-season contests, but new offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael has suggested that Cook could see more usage as a receiver in 2026, and Davis might benefit from that wrinkle in the scheme as well when he's on the field.

Bills' Ray Davis: Returns after brief exit
Davis was able to check back into Tuesday's practice after briefly exiting with an apparent ankle injury, Matt Parrino of The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.
Davis was slow to get up after getting tackled to the ground on a run during 11-on-11 drills, with team trainers coming out on the field to evaluate him before he was able to walk to the sideline under his own power. After a quick trip to the medical tent, Davis was back on the field, albeit with a taped-up ankle. His availability doesn't look like it will be much of a concern moving forward.
