  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Nails three FGAs in London

Shrader went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and made all three of his PATs in Sunday's 30-13 win over Washington. Shrader was able to stay red-hot across the pond in London. The kicker nailed field goals from 48, 52 and 44 yards in the contest, remaining perfect on the season. Through four games, Shrader has gone 11-for-11 on field-goal tries, including 5-for-5 from 50-plus yards, and he's becoming one of the more reliable fantasy options in the league.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Makes four field goals in Week 3 win

Shrader made all four of his field-goal attempts while connecting on his lone extra-point try during the Colts' 19-17 win over the Texans on Sunday. It looked like Shrader was going to observe Sunday's contest from the sidelines after he sustained a groin injury during pregame warmups. However, Shrader was cleared to attempt a field goal in the first quarter, and two of his four made field goals came from 50-plus yards, including a 53-yarder with 19 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Colts their first win of the season. Shrader has made all eight of his field-goal attempts (including three from 50-plus yards) and six of seven extra-point tries through the first three games of the regular season.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Returns from groin issue

Shrader (groin) returned in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Texans, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports. Shrader appeared to injure his groin during pregame warmups, but he was brought out for a 39-yard field goal with 4:38 remaining in first quarter, which he connected on. He may be limited to extra-point attempts and short field goals for the rest of Sunday's game.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Tweaks groin, questionable to return

Shrader (groin) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Texans, Nathan Brown of The Indianapolis Star reports. Shrader appeared to have injured his groin during pregame warmups, as punter Rigoberto Sanchez was the one who booted the ball for the Colts on the opening kickoff. Sanchez could handle all of the kicking duties Sunday if Shrader is not cleared to return.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Perfect in OT loss

Shrader made all three of his field-goal attempts and PATs in Sunday night's 33-30 overtime loss to the Chiefs. All three of Shrader's field goals were under 50 yards, including his game-tying make in overtime from 38 yards. The kicker has made all four of his field goals this season and five of six PATs through two contests.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Converts lone field-goal attempt

Shrader converted his only field-goal attempt and two of his three extra-point tries during Indianapolis' loss to the Ravens on Sunday. Shrader's lone make came from 58 yards out, which was a new career long for the 27-year-old. He spent time with three different teams across the last two seasons before beating out Blake Grupe for the Colts' kicking job during training camp, and Shrader will look to keep producing as the season goes on.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Makes two FGs while Grupe misses

Shrader made both of his field-goal attempts in Saturday's 34-6 preseason loss to the Falcons. Not many Colts had positive takeaways from Saturday's lopsided loss, but Shrader is an exception. The 27-year-old kicker converted from 48 and 53 yards, while Blake Grupe missed a 36-yard attempt on the latter's only kick Saturday. Indianapolis' kicker competition has yet to be decided ahead of next Saturday's preseason finale against the Lions.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: One less make than Grupe on Friday

Shrader went 5-for-6 on field-goal attempts at Friday's training camp practice while Blake Grupe made all six of his attempts, Abby Halpin of the Colts' official site reports. Shrader has recovered from a torn ACL that he suffered in Week 5 of the 2025 season. He was the Colts' starting kicker prior to that point but will need to earn that role back by beating out Grupe in a training-camp competition. "I think it'll be a really good competition," special-teams coordinator Brian Mason said Thursday. "We're going to try to get those guys the exact same number of kicks as similar as we possibly can."

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Working his way back

Shrader (knee) went three of five on kicks during Thursday's minicamp session, Kevin Bowen 93.5 The Fan in Indianapolis reports. It's notable that the kicker is participating in practice after tearing his ACL in Week 5 of the 2025 campaign after being run into by a defender. Shrader is on track to compete with Blake Grupe for the Colts' starting kick job during training camp. Grupe made all five of his kicks Thursday, per Bowen.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Kicking again

General manager Chris Ballard said Monday that Shrader (knee) will kick with the team during training camp in July, JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site reports. Shrader tore the ACL in his plant leg when he was run into on an extra-point attempt in Week 5 of the 2025 season versus the Raiders, but he appears to be progressing well in his recovery. Per Ballard, he recently made a 54-yard field goal during a workout. He performed well as Indianapolis' starting kicker last year before suffering the season-ending injury, making 13 of his 14 field-goal attempts and all 14 of his extra-point tries over five games, but Blake Grupe, who signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Colts in March, will be tough competition for the club's starting kicker job this summer.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Diagnosed with torn ACL and MCL

Coach Shane Steichen confirmed Monday that Shrader will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee in Sunday's win over the Raiders, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports. It's a tough blow for Shrader, who had finally been making his way in the NFL as a consistent kicker after winning the Colts' job this past summer. The Colts now will need to look outside the organization for a new kicker since they don't currently employ one on the practice squad. Shrader's season ends with him making 13 of 14 field-goal attempts and all 14 extra-point tries.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Makes every kick Sunday

Shrader hit both of his field goals and both of his extra-point attempts in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Rams. The kicker drilled a 52-yarder in the first quarter and a 38-yarder in the fourth. Shrader has now made 13 of 14 field goals and all 12 extra-point tries in 2025. The Colts host the struggling Raiders next Sunday, which should give Shrader plenty of scoring opportunities.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Kicker to Start

Shrader is off to a great start this season with nine field goals and five PATs, and he has yet to miss a kick. He has scored at least 16 Fantasy points in each outing against Miami and Denver, and he has top-five upside heading into Week 3 at Tennessee. The Titans have allowed four field goals and five PATs on the season against Wil Lutz and Josh Karty, and Shrader is a big reason why Indianapolis is 2-0 to start the year.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Posts big line in Week 1

Shrader went 4-for-4 on field-goal attempts while making all three of his extra-point tries in the Colts' 33-8 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. Shrader got the scoring started in this one with a four-yard field goal in the first quarter. He also made kicks from 35, 28 and 48 yards, as the Colts rolled the Dolphins. Shrader beat out Maddux Trujillo for Indianapolis' kicking job over the summer.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Likely clinched placekicking job

Shrader took all the kicks in Saturday's preseason game, which likely means he's won the starting job, the Indianapolis Star reports. He made all four field-goal attempts, including a 56-yarder, and converted his lone extra-point attempt. Maddux Trujillo is expected to get all kicking opportunities in the final preseason game. Shrader has been seen as ahead in the kicking competition throughout training camp.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Solid performance in preseason loss

Shrader made three of four field-goal attempts in Thursday's preseason loss at Baltimore. He missed a 52-yard attempt. Shrader was seen as having a significant lead over Maddux Trujillo for the placekicking job in training camp, and Thursday's game should help his cause. Trujillo may get more of an opportunity in the next preseason game (he converted his only extra-point attempt in Thursday's game).

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Will face competition for K job

Shrader and and Maddux Trujillo are in a true competition for the starting placekicker job, special teams coordinator Brian Mason recently told 107.5 FM The Fan in Indianapolis. "Spencer certainly has a little bit of a step up in that. He's already been in the league, already been here, but it is definitely an open competition," said Mason. Shrader inked a two-year deal with the Colts in mid-March after a tumultuous rookie campaign, in which he appeared in four combined games between Indianapolis, Kansas City and the Jets. He converted all five of his field-goal tries and all nine extra-point attempts across those appearances. The Colts will have a new kicker this season after releasing Matt Gay in April. While Shrader's two-year contract likely indicates he's the favorite, it wouldn't be surprising if Trujillo wins the job or if the team acquires another veteran late in training camp for the job. Shrader will need to have a strong preseason as a result.

  • Colts' Spencer Shrader: Competition departs

Shrader is the only remaining kicker on Indianapolis' roster following the release of Matt Gay on Thursday. Shrader inked a two-year deal with the Colts mid-March after a tumultuous rookie campaign, in which he appeared in four combined games between Indianapolis, Kansas City and the Jets. He converted all five of his field-goal tries and all nine extra-point attempts across those appearances. Gay, meanwhile, went 31 for 37 on field-goal tries across 16 regular-season appearances with the Colts, with all six misses coming from 50-plus yards out. Indianapolis will doubtless bring in further options to compete with Shrader this offseason, but Gay's release provides him a clear path to securing the No. 1 job.

  • Spencer Shrader: Non-tendered by Kansas City

Shrader (hamstring) became an unrestricted free agent Wednesday after the Chiefs did not tender his contract, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Shrader played two regular-season games for the Chiefs while filling in for Harrison Butker, who was on injured reserve due to a knee injury. Shrader went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and made all six of his extra-point tries with Kansas City, but he himself went on IR in early December due to a hamstring injury. Now that he's an unrestricted free agent, Shrader will have the freedom to sign with a team looking to sign a kicker.

  • Chiefs' Spencer Shrader: Sidelined for practice

Shrader (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday. Shrader has now logged consecutive absences to begin Week 13 prep after injuring his hamstring in a private workout Monday, so he looks to be trending toward missing Friday's matchup against the Raiders. The Notre Dame product has performed well while filling in for the injured Harrison Butker (knee) over the last two games, converting all three of his field-goal attempts and all six of his extra-point tries. Kansas City added Matthew Wright to its practice squad Tuesday, so he's expected to assume the Chiefs' kicking duties if Shrader is held out Week 13.
