Cleveland waived McDonald (head) from its injured reserve list Tuesday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
McDonald had been on the Browns' injured reserve list since before the start of the regular season, likely due to a concussion he sustained during the preseason, but he's now on his way out with the club. McDonald impressed at Browns' rookie minicamp and stuck with the team through the summer and played all three preseason games, finishing with two receptions for 11 yards and a touchdown. It's not immediately clear what type of issue McDonald is dealing with -- he played in all three of the Browns' preseason contests, tallying two receptions on two targets for 11 yards and a touchdown. The 24-year-old signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent in May.
