Hyppolite (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Packers.
The Maryland product is now in line to miss his second consecutive game due to a shoulder injury. Carl Jones could have an expanded role on the Bears' defense while Hyppolite is sidelined Sunday.

Hyppolite (shoulder) will be inactive for Friday's game against the Eagles.
The linebacker suffered the shoulder injury in the Bears' Week 12 win over the Steelers and missed practice Wednesday. Chicago is already banged up in its linebacker corps, with Tremaine Edmunds (groin) on injured reserve and T.J. Edwards (hand) and Noah Sewell (elbow) already ruled out for Friday as well. Carl Jones, D'Marco Jackson, Daniel Hardy and Amen Ogbongbemiga are Chicago's backup linebackers.

Hyppolite (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday.
The rookie linebacker from Maryland sustained a shoulder injury in the Bears' Week 12 win over the Steelers, and Wednesday's DNP suggests he's still dealing with the issue. Hyppolite likely needs to upgrade to at least limited practice Thursday in order to play in Friday's matchup against the Eagles.

Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Leaves game with shoulder injury
Hyppolite (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hyppolite appeared to injure his shoulder late in the first quarter, and he was taken back to the locker room to be evaluated by medical staff. He was thrust into a starting role at outside linebacker after Tremaine Edmunds (groin) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Amen Ogbongbemiga should see more snaps on defense for as long as Hyppolite is sidelined.

Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Starting for the first time
Hyppolite will make his first career start Sunday against the Steelers, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
The Bears placed Tremaine Edmunds on injured reserve Saturday with a groin issue. Chicago also has two starting linebackers, T.J. Edwards (hand) and Noah Sewell (elbow), who are inactive for Sunday's contest. Hyppolite, a fourth-round pick in April's draft, has played on 17 defensive snaps and 83 special-teams snaps this season, making four tackles (two solo).

Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Full participant again
Hyppolite (knee) practiced in full for the second day in a row Thursday.
The linebacker suffered the knee injury last week against the Giants, but he appears good to go as Sunday's matchup with the Vikings approaches. Hyppolite has been active for five games this season, playing on 70 special-teams snaps and 17 defensive snaps.

Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Exits game with knee injury
Hyppolite (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Giants.
Hyppolite appeared to sustain the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game and is being evaluated to determine whether he can return. He's primarily been used on special teams, but his loss would deplete a Chicago linebacker corps that is already without T.J. Edwards (hand/hamstring) for Week 10.
