    The Bears hosted Carlton (undisclosed) for a visit Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

    Carlton was let go by the Bears with an injury settlement in mid-September, though the nature and severity of the injury was not disclosed. He's progressed enough in his recovery to meet with Chicago again, and assuming he signs a contract at some point, he'll serve as depth on the defensive line.

    Carlton landed on the injured list Sept. 13, though the nature of the injury is unclear. He'll now be free to join any team.
