Jordan Szwarz: Inks deal overseas
Szwarz signed a one-year contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (KHL) on Wednesday.
Szwarz spent the bulk of the 2019-20 campaign playing in the AHL with Belleville for which he notched 18 goals and 18 helpers. In his three games with Ottawa, the winger failed to register a point while averaging a meager 4:55 of ice time. At this point, it seems unlikely the 28-year-old will get another opportunity to break into the NHL.

Senators' Jordan Szwarz: Sent down Sunday
The Senators re-assigned Szwarz to AHL Belleville on Sunday.
Szwarz got the call with Artem Anisimov (lower body) forced to miss last Monday's game, but was unable to provide a point in three games. The 28-year-old only averaged 4:55 of ice time in his time, so it's likely he wasn't going to make a huge difference from a fantasy perspective. With his demotion, look for a banged up Senators' forward group to get someone back for Monday's road game against the Stars.

The Senators recalled Szwarz from AHL Belleville on Monday.
With center Artem Anisimov (lower body) likely to sit out Monday's game against the Wild, the Senators brought up Szwarz and Nick Paul from the AHL ranks to provide added depth at forward. If Szwarz ends up cracking the lineup Monday, he'll likely be limited to a bottom-six role.

Szwarz secured a one-year, two-way deal from the Senators on Monday that will pay him $800,000 at the NHL level.
After racking up 23 goals and 23 assists for AHL Providence last year, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see the 28-year-old land another contract. Whether the center can earn more play time, he saw action in just 12 games for Boston, remains to be seen, but a spot on the 23-man roster for Opening Night certainly isn't out of the question.

Bruins' Jordan Szwarz: Laces up for just 12 games during 2017-18
Szwarz dished out three assists through 12 games in the 2017-18 season, while averaging 11:30 of ice time.
Although Szwarz didn't have a big role this season, he's never skated for more than 26 games over his three NHL campaigns, and didn't skate in an NHL game last year. Nonetheless, the 27-year-old was fantastic in the minors, scoring 48 points (21 goals, 27 assists) in 52 games for AHL Providence and impressively going plus-30 in the process. The big handicap to Szwarz's game is his low 5-foot-11 frame. He'll return to Boston in 2018-19 for the last season of his contract, and if Szwarz doesn't receive a roster invitation following training camp, he'll presumably be a popular option for recall.

Bruins' Jordan Szwarz: Sent to Providence
The Bruins have assigned Szwarz to AHL Providence.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old forward signed a one-year contract extension with the Bruins through the 2018-19 season worth $650,000 at the NHL level and $350,000 at the AHL level. Szwarz, who has logged 19 goals and 44 points in 46 AHL games to date, has recorded three assists in 12 contests with the big club this season. His return to Providence will bolster the team's ranks up front down the regular season stretch run and leading up to the Calder Cup playoffs.

After news broke that David Backes would be missing the next eight weeks following an operation to treat diverticulitis, Szwarz was the first name the team called for reinforcements, and rightly so. In just six games with Providence, the 26-year-old has five goals, eight points and a plus-7 rating. Szwarz has 35 games of NHL experience, though he hasn't played in the league since the 2014-15 season. With the Bruins currently lacking depth at center, Szwarz could be afforded an opportunity to play his way into the Boston lineup permanently -- especially if Matt Beleskey and Frank Vatrano continue to struggle.

Szwarz will miss all of the Coyotes' upcoming training camp after suffering an injury while working out during the offseason.The Coyotes didn't disclose the nature of Szwarz's injury, but since he won't have the benefit of skating during training camp, it's likely that he'll have his season debut delayed.
