    Miele has an offer to sign overseas, so Arizona is essentially doing him a favor by cutting him loose. The 32-year-old forward racked up 15 goals and 48 points in 58 games with AHL Tucson this season.

    Miele signed a contract with the Malmo Redhawks of the Swedish Hockey League on Tuesday, Tony Androckitis of Highland Park Hockey reports.

    The 29-year-old former Hobey Baker Award winner has played for three franchises since turning pro in 2011-12, but he's seen his opportunities in North America dry up. While Miele has proven to be a reliable point producer at the NCAA and AHL levels, he hasn't ever been able to stick in the NHL, playing just 15 games, so he'll try his luck in Sweden.

  • Flyers' Andy Miele: Inks one-year deal with Philadelphia

    Miele signed a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Flyers on Friday, TSN's Frank Seravalli reports.

    Miele has spent the last two seasons with AHL Grand Rapids, and has been highly productive, racking up an impressive 132 points (44 goals, 88 assists) over 146 games. The 28-year-old forward has only appeared in a total of 15 NHL contests during his career, tallying two assists over that span, but could potentially spend some time with the big club in Philadelphia next season. Miele will likely get an opportunity to compete for an Opening Night roster spot with the Flyers in September's training camp.
