  • Michael Liambas: Announces retirement

Liambas announced his retirement via his personal Instagram on Monday.

Liambas spent most of his professional career playing at the ECHL and AHL levels. He most recently suited up for 43 games with AHL Iowa during the 2019-20 campaign. The 32-year-old appeared in eight career NHL games, notching one assist and racking up 21 PIM.

  • Wild's Michael Liambas: Designated for waivers

Liambas was waived by the Wild on Saturday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Liambas actually toiled in the AHL from 2010-17 before finally getting a cup of coffee with the Predators and Ducks, respectively, the past two seasons. Expect the 5-foot-10, 196-pound depth winger to be called up only if injuries deplete the Wild up front this season; he'll need to clear waivers first, but that seems inevitable.

  • Wild's Michael Liambas: Inks two-way deal with Wild

Liambas agreed to a two-year, two-way deal with Minnesota on Sunday.

The 29-year-old winger has played just eight career NHL games, posting one assist with the Ducks last season. Liambas will likely start out next year with AHL Iowa and won't see much NHL playing time.

  • Ducks' Michael Liambas: Lifted from IR, shifts to minors

Liambas (undisclosed) was activated from injured reserve Friday and subsequently sent to AHL San Diego.

Liambas was recalled when the Ducks were having serious injury issues on their offensive front, so he suited up for seven games and compiled one assist and 21 PIM. The Ducks are healthy enough to no longer need Liambas' services, though, so he'll head back to minors, where he recorded two goals, five points and 50 PIM in 13 games earlier this season.

  • Ducks' Michael Liambas: Lands on injured reserve

Liambas was placed on IR with an undisclosed ailment Friday, Eric Stephens of The Orange County Register reports.

Although Liambas logged just 4:37 of ice time Wednesday, it's hard to say with certainty that's when he sustained his injury given that he's been averaging a mere 5:17 on the season. Considering the winger's minimal opportunities, fantasy owners in all but the deepest of formats will be unaffected by his absence. In the meantime, recently acquired Joe Blandisi will fill out the lineup.

  • Ducks' Michael Liambas: Recalled from minors

Liambas was called up from AHL San Diego on Sunday.

The 28-year-old will be called upon as Anaheim remarkably has five forwards on injured reserve at the moment. Liambas recorded 11 points in 72 games last season in AHL Milwaukee but has yet to record a point in the NHL.

  • Ducks' Michael Liambas: Waived Thursday

Anaheim placed Liambas on waivers Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

The 28-year-old blueliner is nothing more than an organizational depth player at this stage in his career, as he's only appeared in a single NHL contest since entering the AHL in 2012-13. He'll likely remain in the minors for the entire 2017-18 campaign.

  • Ducks' Michael Liambas: Signs with Anaheim

Liambas was inked to a one-year, two-way deal with the Ducks on Sunday.

The 28-year-old has only played in a single NHL contest to date, but he put forth a career-best effort with AHL Milwaukee last year with 11 points. Liambas is rather prolific when it comes to the pugilism department, however, as evidenced by his 149 PIM in 2016-17 and the fact that he's piled up an insane 762 over the last four years -- all of which have been in the AHL. That said, unless he cracks the Ducks' lineup and manages to put up triple-digit PIM at the the NHL level, he's not going to be relevant in fantasy circles anytime soon.

  • Predators' Michael Liambas: Assigned to minors

Liambas was assigned to AHL Milwaukee on Sunday.

With Miikka Salomaki (hand) and Ryan Ellis (upper body) slated to join the Predators' lineup soon, the team needed to make room on the roster and Liambas is the odd man out. The 27-year-old appeared in only 4:42 of a single game during this stint with the big club, managing one hit and a minus-1 rating.

  • Predators' Michael Liambas: Recalled from AHL Milwaukee

Liambas was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Saturday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official website reports.

The Predators brought up both Liambas and Petter Granberg from Milwaukee to help restore some depth on the blue line with Ryan Ellis (upper body) hitting IR. Since the club already has six other healthy defensemen, it's not expected that Liambas will regularly crack the lineup, so he'll presumably just act as an insurance policy in the event Nashville suffers further injuries at the back end.

  • Predators' Michael Liambas: Waived for purpose of reassignment

Liambas was waived by the Predators on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Liambas, if he clears waivers, will be reassigned to AHL Milwaukee where he previously played between 2012 and 2015. Over that span, the winger was known more for his physicality than his scoring, as he tallied just 17 points but racked up an astronomical 499 PIM. With enforcers growing scarce, the 27-year-old may never get a chance to suit up in an NHL game.

  • Predators' Michael Liambas: Procures contract with Predators

Liambas agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way deal with Nashville on Wednesday worth $575,000 at the NHL level, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.

Liambas returns to the Predators organization after having spent the 2015-16 season playing for AHL Rockford, the minor affiliate of the Blackhawks. The veteran winger tallied just 17 points in his first three-year stint in Milwaukee and fantasy owners can expect him to spend the bulk of the upcoming campaign with the Admirals.
