Andrew Miller: Headed to Switzerland
Miller will play for Fribourg-Gotteron of the NLA next season, Patrick Williams of NHL.com reports.
Miller has spent most of the last three seasons playing for AHL Charlotte, but he will now take his talents overseas after his contract with the Hurricanes expired. He could return to the United States down the road, but Miller doesn't appear likely to ever make a major impact in the NHL ranks.

Hurricanes' Andrew Miller: On shelf with upper-body injury
Miller is expected to be sidelined for about a month with an upper-body injury.
Miller is one of the Hurricanes' top prospects currently playing in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers. Although he has not seen any time at the NHL level this year, he leads the Checkers with 51 points (15 goals, 36 assists) through 51 games. Assuming he's healthy, Miller is expected to challenge for a roster spot with the Canes next season.

Hurricanes' Andrew Miller: Signs one-year deal
Miller agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Tuesday.
Miller spent the entire 2016-17 campaign in the minors with AHL Charlotte, where he finished third on the team with 41 points in 55 outings. The winger last appeared in an NHL contest with Edmonton in 2015-16, playing six games but failing to register a point. The 28-year-old will likely be given a shot to crack the 23-man roster during training camp, but until he can secure a regular role with the 'Canes, fantasy owners may want to hold off on picking him up.

Miller was assigned to AHL Bakersfield on Saturday.
With Jordan Eberle now healthy, the Oilers are no longer in need of Miller's services as a depth forward. The 27-year-old winger drew into Edmonton's lineup on five occasions during his stay with the big club, registering three shots on goal and four hits in those contests.

With Jordan Eberle (shoulder) still working his way back from injury, and Connor McDavid (collarbone) out indefinitely, the Oilers are in desperate need of depth at center. Miller's promotion could allow the Oilers to move Leon Draisaitl back to his natural center position, although that would likely mean the dynamic Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor Hall line would have to be broken up. Miller boasts some offensive upside, as the 27-year-old winger tallied an impressive 60 points (27 goals, 33 assists) in 63 games with AHL Oklahoma City last season.

Head coach Todd McLellan told reporters Thursday that they wanted to add a heavier, more physical presence to the 23-man roster, hence the demotion of the petite Miller and the promotion of the bigger bodied Pakarinen. Miller only suited up for one game during his short stay with the big club, logging a mere 8:28 of ice time in the contest.
