Chase Balisy: Signs with DEL club
Balisy put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Straubing (DEL) on Sunday.
Balisy couldn't break into the Senators' lineup last season, instead playing in 76 games for AHL Belleville, in which he tallied seven goals and 15 helpers. The Western Michigan University product was taken in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Draft following a four-year collegiate career. At this point, the 27-year-old will likely see his NHL career come to an end having logged eight games for the Panthers in which he failed to register a point.

Senators' Chase Balisy: Inks one-year deal
Balisy signed a one-year, two-way contract with Ottawa on Friday.
Balisy made his NHL debut last season, recording six shots, four hits and two blocks over eight games. The Western Michigan University product was limited to 9:49 of average ice time and actually spent the bulk of the campaign in the minors, where he racked up 35 points in 67 outings. Looking ahead to 2018-19, the center figures to continue developing with AHL Belleville.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Returning to AHL
Balisy was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Sunday, Matthew DeFranks of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
The demotion concludes the California native's second unremarkable stint in the NHL this season, with Balisy now having played eight games without scoring a point. A slightly undersized playmaker, Balisy has finished two AHL campaigns with at least 44 points and has nine points through 13 minor-league tilts this season. Balisy will likely be given another recall in 2017-18, though his performances to date don't warrant giving him much of a look when putting together a fantasy lineup.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Promoted from minors
Balisy was recalled from AHL Springfield on Wednesday.
Balisy will want to make sure he is signed up for a frequent flyer rewards program as he makes yet another trip between Springfield, Massachusetts and Sunrise, Florida. The center's call-up doesn't bode well for Derek MacKenzie's (undisclosed) status ahead of Thursday's clash with San Jose. Balisy should provide some emergency depth for the Panthers' three-game swing through California.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Returned to minor-league affiliate
The Panthers loaned Balisy to AHL Springfield on Wednesday.
Balisy went scoreless while posting a minus-2 rating over four games during his stay with the big club. The 25-year-old pivot will continue to be one of the first players the Panthers turn to when they're in need of reinforcements up front, but he won't be a viable option in any fantasy formats this campaign.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Recalled from minors
Balisy was called up from AHL Springfield on Monday, per the AHL transaction report.
After posting 45 points in 76 games last season for AHL Springfield, Balisy is now on the hunt to record his first NHL point. The 25-year-old plays a strong possession-oriented game, a trait that should serve him well as he battles for ice time in Florida's bottom six.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Shuffles back to minors
Balisy was reassigned to the AHL's Thunderbirds on Friday.
The California native appeared in his first three NHL games upon the latest call-up, but he only registered two shots on goal with one hit over 10:56 of average ice time. Still, he's likely to be back with the parent club when injuries inevitably strike.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Will see college coach in NHL debut
Balisy will make his NHL debut against the Red Wings on Saturday, Craig Davis of the Sun-Sentinel reports.
The Western Michigan University product was recruited by Wings coach Jeff Blashill, so Balisy should feel at home for his first start on hockey's grandest stage. Prior to his call-up, the 25-year-old had recorded two goals, 29 PIM and a minus-4 rating through eight games with AHL Springfield. He's proven that he can score at the lower levels, but he'll be granted a fourth-line role to kick-start his NHL career.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Summoned to NHL
Balisy was recalled from AHL Springfield on Friday.
The 25-year-old is a sensible call-up option, as last season, he led the AHL's Thunderbirds in assists (28) and points (45) through 76 games. Jared McCann (lower body) is on injured reserve, which is another reason why Balisy is getting a harder look from the parent club.

Panthers' Chase Balisy: Pens one-year deal
Balisy agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Florida on Saturday.
Balisy bounced back from a disappointing sophomore campaign in the minors with 17 goals and 28 assists in 76 outings. The Western Michigan University graduate is still looking to make his NHL debut -- something that could happen during the 2017-18 season, although fantasy owners probably shouldn't expect him to log consistent ice time quite yet.
